Time to move off has finally come. So many to choose from, though. Makes my head spin 😵

I need one with:

  1. Great support (maybe get that webcam working finally)

  2. Smooth & slick / (I'm less of a terminal guy)

  3. Focus on , security-first approach (but not the ones that are made for James Bond)

What do you suggest?

ao,

@smallcircles I am happy with Fedora, after moving to it from Ubuntu, which I've been using for a couple of years prior. It has a nice look and feel along with relatively recent software, making it rather pleasant to use.

As for security, Fedora (among some other recommendations you received) is listed on Privacy Guides: https://www.privacyguides.org/en/desktop/. Since privacy cannot be achieved without proper security, I'd assume there are no major issues with Fedora in this regard.

Będziecie mieli widok dokumentu i otrzymacie karty do głosowania. Przekażecie znajomym!

ao,

Seriously..

Fuck every government that forces companies to remove security features for their snooping :nkoHammer:

Don't care what government you are, you don't get a backdoor or lacks security because you want to

ao,

@stux Indeed, such measures obviously would mostly affect law abiding citizens by denying them their right to privacy, while perpetrators could still avoid detection through additional encryption or by using noncompliant, smaller platforms.

I hope people proposing weakening of encryption are just incompetent and not malicious, but they clearly should not be in charge of anything related to this field.
