Is "fixed stuff" a good git commit message for a big project? I'm asking for myself 🤔

apfohl,
@apfohl@chaos.social avatar

@nixCraft As I have often seen it, in really big projects, no one will look at the history again…

Imagine having a FTTH connection with a huge bandwidth and only CG-NAT without IPv6. It’s just broken right. It feels like having a Tesla shell with a Trabant motor in it… anoying. Do you have any ideas hot to fix this? (besides nagging the ISP for it)

@blinry Gibt es eigentlich den HTTP Status Code Bot auch schon hier bei Mastodon?

I'll give a talk about my personal wiki at later today, starting at 17:00 UTC+2!

My wiki is based around a very simple Vim plugin, and I've been using basically every day since over 12 years! We'll cover how it works, how I use it, and how you can build your own wiki!

@blinry Very nice talk. Thank you. I like the idea very much to have a super simple set of files for collecting information and have a minimal tooling for it. I never thought of something like that before. I'll try out Vimboy for this.

Has anyone an idea if it’s possible to rent a cargo bike in Olso for a day? Or does someone know someone who knows someone who would lent it to us for a day?

What do y'all use for time tracking?

Until now, I've always manually written stuff down in text files or spread sheets, but I'd like something that makes it easier to add up the hours I've spent on a project.

I don't need any syncing across devices. A command line interface would be neat!

@blinry I used watson for time tracking. I also wrote a little sync server, as there is no one anymore. It’s very simplistic, but supports projects and tags on your entries. And some rudimentary statistics. Worked great all the time.

Can someone at borrow me some isopropanol? My notebook got wet yesterday, and I need to clean the mainboard. :/

Had to verify. And yes. Kernighan and Ritchie really did this. TIL :)
