Google calling everything AI has ruined the ability to have basic conversations about products and features.

Apple is developing a generative image "AI" editing tool for images that replaces and upgrades the existing repair tools used in many photo editors. Instead of relying on nearest neighbor pixel replacement and other ML-based technologies, the generative model based editor would be able to "understand" what it needs to do to remove an object while maintaining a natural look to the background.

The only place you can do stuff like this now is in paid tools like Adobe's.

BUT, you have people out here confused by Google's marketing suggesting Pixel phones already have the feature thanks to Magic Eraser. No, that tool isn't AI or generative or whatever term you want to use, it's just really good ML. (Google does have really good ML image tools).

Google did this on purpose to appear ahead of the game on on-device AI. It worked.

I had the best idea for Apple Pencil 3: the Apple Pencil Case

It would charge the Apple Pencil through inductive charging within the case, keep the changeable magnetic tips, have find my functionality with a speaker, and have an internal battery to keep the pencil topped off when not attached to the iPad.

The case has USB-C and can pair to an iPad by connecting the case to the iPad over USB-C or via the magnetic method like iPad Pro.

It solves every problem pretty elegantly. A place to keep the pencil, a way to keep it charged when not attached to the iPad, a way to pair it with the 10th gen iPad, and a place to keep the rumored tips.

Tell me that's not perfect.

Apple Vision Pro nor the optical inserts appear in Apple Wallet for delivery and receipt tracking.

I haven't seen a new item appear here since 2022 when the feature released. I've ordered using Apple Pay at checkout from several supported websites, apps, and services.

Is this feature dead?

This is how Apple will let users defend against the iPhone + passcode thefts. It's an obvious but clever solution that should mitigate most of the problems, you'll just need to be aware of the theft within an hour.
