How the hell do you get this to never pop-up again? I swear I have jumped through the hoops to make this go away. It seems like every other website on the internet has this stupid pop-up.

@Reshirams_Rad_Slam there is. The trick is, I see this in different browsers. So Google must want me to be setting a cookie in each browser and for that to work, sign in on each browser and device (including work ones) and never delete that cookie.

Like I check my google account and that check box is set the way they say it needs to be to disable the pop-ups yet I still get the pop up. So clearly there must be more to it.

It’s just a crazy thing. It looks spammy and fake, and is everywhere.

Yeah it’s all coming together. Microsoft’s going all in on gamepass, selling their games on every platform possible plus streaming. Xbox is going to just be a prebuilt pc part of Microsoft’s computer hardware line.

    @Slyence either way, gamers for the price of an indie game per month get a big catalog of games with new releases every month, developers get a dedicated and consistent income stream leading to far more stability there, and Microsoft gets to achieve their goal of being a super profitable and industry leading game publisher.

I understand that you feel that you haven’t truly become the person you feel you should be but I will admit that even at 32 I haven’t become the person I want to be.     @Slyence @ty04 a girl who lived across the street from me racked up a 2,000 dollar cell phone bill texting.

    By the time I had a cell phone they had the 5 friend plans for unlimited talk and text and unlimited night and weekends so I didn’t have to worry about that. But that was a crazy few years.

    Anyone know if any of these T&Cs about not training new models on the output been explained publicly by expert lawyers, or tested in court yet?

    Feels like a huge elephant in the room, especially given the vast number of models fine-tuned on generated data

    Yet another part of the AI space that seems to be running on "vibes" - I'm not sure "OpenAI train on crawled data so they can't complain if we train on their stuff" is a robust legal argument, but maybe it is?

    @simon yeah the site is actually completely useless without an account now. If someone links a thread or multi-tweet chain, or a reply, you see nothing but the individual tweet you are linked. As if it were just a screen shot. And timelines of profiles when not signed in are completely scrambled and not chronological. So you’ll open a twitter profile from a Google search and see tweet from 5 years ago, last month, 2 years ago, etc and be unable to sort.

    The anti-reproductive rights crowd thinks they can mislead people with statistics (probably true) but that means nearly a quarter of people are okay with unlimited abortion access. Then people who support third trimester bans with exemptions for rape and incest and risk to the mother, or even 16-20 week bans, aren’t being “counted”. This is probably over 50% but 22% sounds like a small minority.
