Title says it all!? I'm a reddit refuge and picked this instance because it's A) Canadian (I'm in MN, so consider myself an honorary Canadian), and B) The clean energy thing....
I have been supporting Lemmy recently a lot and made posts about Lemmy that got big reach. Today, sadly the reddit account through which, I moderated a lot of subs and spent time on, comes to an end. The reason was because I spammed according to reddit, but the reality is that they have censored me because I was hurting Reddit....
This site is currently struggling to handle the amount of new users. I have already upgraded the server, but it will go down regardless if half of Reddit tries to join....
I wouldn't mind running my own single user instance, but it seems a little challenging to set up rn. I would love to be able to set one up easily with a rasperry pi or my truenas core server.

If my understanding is correct, it's actually not just a simple proxy but actually a mirror, meaning If the remote instance's server is down or slow, your local instance will still be able to let you see/vote on/comment on the post.
the mobile apps need more work done on them atm than the web ui imho(idk if that counts as front end, I'm not a developer). Jebora works, but It feels really glitchy to me atm. hopefully the developers of third party reddit apps will either help work on jebora or develop their own lemmy apps to make the mobile experience better.
edit: I also think we need collapsible comment chains (on jebora, just realized the webui has them)
So, I don't know if this is a dumb question, but how do I change from lemmy.ml to let's say, beehaw, without switching accounts? I'm on the Jerboa app.
Why when I click signup or login, button spins forever, no network activity on click. Tried on multiple instances, no luck. Am I the only one? I'm using Firefox @lemmy
I had this experience with both Firefox and chrome on desktop. When I switched to mobile it worked. I use vandium browser on graphenos though, so I don't know how well it will work with other phones, but its probably worth a shot if your still having problems.
Enough money to retire/do something productive for society, or wait at a table for corrupt politicians / billionaires who give no fucks about me or the society that they don't have to live in but I do 🤔
So.... what makes this server different? :)

Reddit has permanently suspended my account for supporting Lemmy.

lemmy.ml is overloaded, use other instances instead
