bionicjoey,

Doors opening outward is usually safer in case of a fire or other evacuation scenario.

No, it’s not. Any economist will tell you that the best way of making companies care about the environment is to make them have to pay for every bit of pollution they generate. It’s called taxing an externality, and it’s basically the best solution we have to the tragedy of the commons.

bionicjoey,

Yeah but none of that is realistically possible. The cost of enforcing those rules and ensuring that companies aren’t finding loopholes to skirt the law is untenable. A carbon tax is simple, easy to track, and if companies try to get around it, then it’s tax evasion (and not the kind that can be mitigated by moving to Panama or Ireland), which the government usually takes pretty seriously.

moving us backwards in climate change action. Thing are already worse in terms of weather

The entire rest of the world is destroying the environment too. Carbon tax is a good step we can take in the right direction, but don’t expect to see any change to the climate disasters affecting us just because our country enacts a good climate policy.

But maybe that’s because I selected Brick in Borderlands2. The dual wield button practically destroyed everything

Brick wasn’t playable in BL2, but I’m assuming you mean Salvadore

bionicjoey,

Wdym “New Tales”? They made a follow up to Tales From The Borderlands? Because that game was amazing.

bionicjoey,

That was such a glorious time. I recall they even held a competition at one point to develop a recommendation algorithm that could predict whether or not someone would enjoy Napoleon Dynamite

bionicjoey,

Nothing makes me feel more disconnected from humanity than the YouTube trending tab

bionicjoey,

Why does this game need a remake? It came out pretty recently. They could probably just release a graphics and content patch for the base game. Or a sequel. Why rerelease a game like this?

bionicjoey,

Cooking. I’ve tried learning multiple times but I still can’t really make anything more complicated than boiling pasta or frying eggs or a grilled cheese. I wish I could learn but everytime someone tries to teach me I can’t retain what they teach me and do it independently. I’m constantly fucking up in the kitchen which leads me to waste food, which my parents drilled into me is like the worst sin you can commit, so I stopped trying. I hated throwing things out because I’d fucked them up, especially because by that point I’d be so hungry that my failure would have an outsized effect on my emotions, and I wouldn’t want to try again. So I just order food, make simple things like noodles and sandwiches, and avoid anything more complicated.

I'm experiencing indecision

Our (my partner and i) lease is up in a month and we are planning on moving to a town 30 minutes north of us. we’re in a small college town surrounded by cornfields currently, and would be moving to a more suburban area. my main reasons for moving are that I’ve been in this town for about 5 years and honestly its got some of...

bionicjoey,

Moving to a non walkable suburb is the worst decision you can make for your physical and mental health.

bionicjoey,

There’s no monthly fee to use Uber eats and I’d be tipping the same amount either way. The cost per order isn’t very high if you’re using the pickup option.

bionicjoey,

Fail fast is the whole point and the beauty of agile. Better to meet with clients early and understand if a project is even workable rather than dedicating a bunch of resources to it up front and then finding out six months in (once the sunk cost fallacy has become too powerful)

“Just a black bear” bruh there’s three of them. Smh my head

bionicjoey,

So “P” was short for “Plastic” all along!

bionicjoey,

DMsGuild is a community for sharing homebrew content, so no, it’s not official.

bionicjoey,

Praying to God it kills the return to office movement

bionicjoey,

Happy to help! Feel free to tag me or DM me if you have more questions down the road. Hope you have a better experience with this character

bionicjoey,

For the hearing, there is an Elf heritage that grants a bonus to perception when relying on hearing. They could also do something with hearing or smell as imprecise senses since most beast races get something like that.

For playing as a Tiny creature, I’d recommend looking at how the toy Poppet handles it. Basically tiny creatures have shorter ranges (since a weapon that reached 5 feet into the neighbouring square would be unwieldy for them). That shouldn’t impact you very much as a caster though.

Spells: Soothe and…undecided because the builder only gives me True Strike as an option…? I think I should have other choices but I don’t know

Every Psychic subclass has one forced spell choice at each spell rank. So True Strike is forced because you chose Infinite Eye. It’s okay because you’ll get more spell options as you go. Don’t feel obligated to use True Strike. It’s rarely going to be as good as other options since you aren’t focusing on damage.

Soothe seems good enough for what I want but out of curiosity, are there other healing spells to pick up later?

Yeah, the better version of Soothe is rank 2 Soothe, and then rank 3 Soothe, etc. I’d recommend you make Soothe your rank 1 Signature Spell. That way, you’ll be able to cast it at higher levels without needing to invest more spells known.

The occult spell list doesn’t have as many HP heals as the divine spell list, but you only really need one as long as it can be upcasted. As you level up you’ll get access to other kinds of reactive and defensive spells which can cleanse debuffs off of your allies (eg. Lesser Restoration or whatever it’s called now with the remaster).

Also worth noting that casting spells is a very suboptimal way of healing out of combat. Since you are going the route of the INT psychic, you should put a skill point in Medicine and focus on using Treat Wounds outside of combat for healing. Probably also grab Battle Medicine in order to have another healing option in combat.

And do deities even matter outside of RP for non-Clerics? I couldn’t quite figure that out…

Nope. Not unless your GM makes them matter.

bionicjoey,

Perfect for playing Counter Strike!
