Every laptop in the school is open access. Meaning I can walk in the library, take the laptop off the desk, and login to it without a password, and carry it around where ever I please.

I really wish they would just lemme work there.

Later that same, he was trying to get the PA/projector working and it wouldn't work. Now, I'm always hesitant to try to step in and mess with some org's established setup so I hung back. But I couldn't help sidling up to him and saying "if only you have some technical employee here that could help out with just these types of situations...." (he knows I want to be their IT person, I regularly remind him he needs one).

Principal at the kid's school handed me a laptop the other day and said "these are the new laptops the school will be getting all the kids" and all I could see was the little intel i3 sticker and had to fake some enthusiasm.

For the last two weeks my online course module for my thesis has not been accessible to me and I've been pestering the shit out of my professor and the chair of the dept, who only replied "working on it" or didn't reply at all.

I kept asking for the assignments so I wouldn't fall behind, and no one would give them to me.

Yesterday I finally got access only to find an announcement posted within the course module stating that NONE of us were able to access the module.

1. um, why was this info not shared so I didn't panic thinking I was behind everyone else?
2. Why are you posting the announcement INSIDE the module none of us could access...??

Off to a great start for my last (ever) semester of school.

I had 2 PTA obligations yesterday. The first was sorting the 1k new library books and scanning them into the system. The second was babysitting 38 kids for a parent's date night.

Guess which one I did not enjoy?

By this time next year I may potentially be looking for a part-time remote job in IT/IS - I have six years experience sysadmin/cybersecurity stuff, my A+/Sec+ and I'll have my masters by then. I really love auditing/remediation and threat intel work the most. I do not enjoy helpdesk (because I've already put in my time there, tyvm)

I have to be able to work remotely from Korea (is the catch).

I have the privilege of being able to be picky as it's not imperative for me to work right now, but I like to be busy and I like a lot of autonomy in my job. I hate corporate lingo and I won't use it, but I will reply to your email in a timely manner.

The principal of my kid’s school said they are getting all new laptops for the kids and I’m still waiting for that job offer to be there sysadmin (they still have no IT). My grand plan is to be such a great PTA leader the principal will wish I worked there and offer my a job 🤡☠️

I have time, we got confirmation we will be in Korea for the next four years. 🎊

That moment when you have another person’s child over for lunch and halfway through her sandwich she says “oh no, is there nuts in this bread?” And there is. I stg my soul left my body for a minute there.

(She was fine, she has only a mild allergy but I’m shocked I didn’t think to ask before making her the sandwich. 😭)

Gave my kid my cc to run down to the 7-11 and pick up a couple things and she later informed me that she tried to buy herself a roblox gift card (or something) but that the cashier wouldn't let her.

I was impressed that she told me, tbh. I couldn't even be upset. 🤷‍♀️
