buddascrayon,

Microsoft: our new windows comes with not only a key logger but and EVERYTHING logger. Isn’t that great?!?!

Users: WTF, we have antivirus for the sole purpose of keeping that shit off our computers!!!

Microsoft: too late, it’s integrated. What are ya gonna do? Switch to Linux? (Laughs maniacally)

buddascrayon,

Here’s hoping those ass fucks in Texas get to see their fair share this bullshit. While they sit around climate denying they can fucking roast.

buddascrayon,

The people I’m mad at are the ones who vote these fuck heads in. Honestly if them dying makes it likely that a republican won’t pull a seat in the house or the Senate, I count that as a good thing. Fuck those assholes. They vote based on insignificant and petty issues drummed up by the conservative think tanks and not on any real issues. Critical race theory? Bullshit! Trans people trying to convert your kids or competing in sports “unfairly”? BULLSHIT! Illegal immigrants coming to kidnap or kill you or your family? Absolute HORSESHIT!!

These fucktards deserve ever extra degree of heat they get. I only feel sorry for the liberals who are stuck living with them. But only a little bit cause they need to light a fire under their asses and fight these bastards where they live.

buddascrayon, (edited )

Vote better. Or, if you already do, work harder to get the fuckers out of office.

partisan politics

arbitrary distinction

Oh, you mean the who “both sides are terrible” argument? Let us see. One side thinks we should invest as much government money as we can into education, the other wants to gut every dime and put all kids (who can afford it) into private schools. One side wants to ensure that children do not go hungry, the other is canceling student lunch programs everywhere they can. And, to the point of this thread, one side wants us to acknowledge our hand in climate change and find a way to mitigate it, the other wants to pretend it doesn’t exist.

I’m not a radical for believing what I believe because what I believe is based in scientific fact and compassion for humanity. The “other side of the coin” is afraid that their tax money might, at some point, help a poor person in need.

Fuck your moderate ass. People like you are half the problem.

buddascrayon,

To think this is a problem with just Amazon is silly. This is every American corporation. The executives of every major corporation in this country treat themselves very very well on company dimes while their workers all languish in starvation wages. The only way to fight this is to raise the minimum wage to something that is livable for the average worker. The government needs to force these companies to behave. They will never and I mean abso-fucking-lutely never choose to treat their workers with respect and dignity by paying them a decent living wage.

And the politicians that are in all of their pockets will never ever go against their corporate masters. The only way to make them listen is to get every single American to acknowledge that this is something that is needed and then push their politicians to do it or threaten their jobs by voting for someone else. This goes for both Democrats and Republicans, not quite equally but there’s definitely a few Democrats that need to be replaced.

buddascrayon,

It’ll be very amusing to see that company to go down in flames.

buddascrayon,

The GOP tried real hard to find Biden guilty of literally anything. But when there no evidence whatsoever and the news keeps finding out that the “evidence” you’ve cooked up is actually just made up bullshit, it’s becomes quite hard to accomplish.

buddascrayon,

Don’t fool yourself, there’s a lot of Democrats in the pocket of the tax prep lobby.

buddascrayon,

Gaming PCs are almost universally faster and more powerful than any gaming consoles, no matter how flashy and prettily designed. (Hell, even mid tier PCs generally kick the ass of most consoles) So why the hell would a PC gamer downgrade their gaming experience by wasting their money on a console?

buddascrayon,

Technically we get to press the button twice because there’s primaries (and, to a lesser degree, caucuses), but people need to be engaged in the process a lot earlier than the September/October/November period in which most people actually are paying attention.

buddascrayon,

Need to stop looking at the big picture first. There’s more than just the presidential or senatorial or even Congressional elections. There are local elections that have a much bigger impact on how your life goes than you realize. Do you know who your mayor is? Do you know who your state senator or alderman is? Most people know who their governor is but do you know who your lieutenant Governor is? Who is your state’s attorney general? Generally speaking the Secretary of State administers your electoral process in your state, do you know who your secretary of state is? Did you vote for your secretary of state? Did you bother to find out who was running against them in the primary election?

These are the questions most people don’t ask don’t even think to ask, and these are the questions that have the largest impact on how our country is actually run. In the long run the presidential election doesn’t matter as much as these because these are what determine how the president ends up actually getting elected. I almost lament the 17th amendment changing the way senators are chosen. Because when senators were chosen by the legislatures in the state people had to pay more attention to what their state legislature looked like.

buddascrayon,

Stop focusing so much on the president. There are other positions in the party, ones who influence how our elections are handled, who are actually more important in the long run.

buddascrayon,

There are some people in this world who are smarter and more motivated than we are.

And then there are people who get a head start when their rich daddy gives 'em a bunch of money and they get lucky with how they invest that money but pretend to be a genius anyway.

buddascrayon,

Yes but I believe the requests themselves are actually publicly available knowledge.

buddascrayon,

Stupidity mostly.

buddascrayon,

One thing that I will say on this is that I find the idea that a company can patent life is beyond repugnant. These corporations aren’t designing these things from the ground up. They are doing the exact same thing farmers have done for thousands of years which is mixing breeds together to get the result they want. Only real difference now is that they can take a snapshot of the DNA and go to the patent office and say “Mine!”.

buddascrayon,

Like we’ve seen before with AI chatbots, this technology seems to confuse satire with journalism

Unfortunately so does my aunt. And she’s allowed to vote.

buddascrayon,

Next in the news “water is wet”.

buddascrayon,

Activision, which is like Valve’s slower and far less intelligent cousin, sold for $59B. Valve would be worth orders of magnitude more than that.

buddascrayon,

Yeah, I now realize the article was talking £ not $

buddascrayon,

Yes well Sam (I’m a total dipshit, but it’s ok cause I’m rich now) Altman tweeting out “Her” on launch day did not help matters.

buddascrayon,

I listen to it and no they’re not that different. The way she speaks is eeriely similar to the way Scarlett Johansson does.
