chepox,

Tencent will buy everything if we allow them to.

chepox,

México. Everyone uses whatsapp. For personal communication or work. Businesses have their accounts you can order stuff through. Nobody uses SMS or pretty much any other chat app.

chepox,

I played through the first one with my bud. We had a blast doing a campaign. We are definitely going to give this one a go to.

chepox,

It is a developing technology. Good that they find these decrements in accuracy early so that they are understood and worked out. Of course there may be something nefarious going on behind the scenes where they may be trying to commercialize different models by tiers or something a brainless market oriented CEO thought of. Hope not. Time will tell…

chepox,

Yikes. That is horrible. How can an upper level exec look at that and say: Yes! That’s exactly what I was looking for!

chepox,

I don’t have to buy a personal phone so I just use my work phone as my only phone.

What are good sources of PS2 files?

My main interest is the preservation of media history. To that end, I am looking for a good source of PS2 files so that I can catalog and archive them into a dedicated USB HDD. Then I’ll store the drive in the random nuclear fallout shelter the house I bought came with until the day the world needs a copy of ‘Little Britain:...

chepox,

Hundreds of other countries in the world sell these over the counter. That means millions of users across dozens of years across the globe. As long as you follow the directions on the packet, like any other medication you can buy OTC, it is safe. Validated by millions of people.

chepox,

The kg was redefined not long ago to Planks Constant. It is not arbitrary, but a measurement of a natural occurring phenomena.

chepox,

That’s why my password is “password” and not “that”.

chepox,

Tinnitus fucking sucks. I hate silence

chepox,

Last Christmas one of my office coworkers brother died from a fireworks explosion. It was tragic. Aparently, they had made a bigger firework by combining the powder of smaller ones. He had in his hand when it went off. He spent about 10 days in the hospital before succumbing to his injuries near his abdomen and hands. RIP.

Firecrackers are fun but they are no joke.

chepox,

México. NO. Do not drink the tap water. Boiling does not help. It has a bunch of heavy metals and other contaminants in it. It sucks because mechanical filtering is incapable of removing them effectively. Reverse osmosis does but it is a challenging and expensive process to properly keep in your house. We always buy bottled water. Trucks deliver twice a week.

chepox,

It's not just me then... I consider myself tech savvy and I have such a hard time finding the message that notified me. Getting back to an old message is just impossible for me.

Well... Maybe I am getting old.

chepox,

Similar boat. Wife doesn't like gaming but I do. She loves being on Instagram and I don't dare touch that crap with a 10 foot pole. But we want each other to be happy so she Instagrams and I game and we are both happy. I show her some gaming moments and she feigns awe and interest. She shows me some instgrammer and a feign awe and interest. It works because we are respectful of each other's likes.

The Guardian view on danger at sea: The contrast between the frantic hunt for a missing submersible and the failure to save migrants drowning in the Mediterranean is illuminating (www.theguardian.com)

A massive operation is under way to find and save a stricken vessel and its passengers. As time passes, anxious families and friends wait with growing fear. The US coastguard, Canadian armed forces and commercial vessels are all hunting for the Titan submersible, which has gone missing with five aboard on a dive to the wreck of...

chepox,

I read somewhere that this an evolutionary trait that developed back from when we hung out in small groups. Empathy was only useful as a species when we could act upon said small group. Increase the group size and we find no additional benefit on having empathy for the unknown extended group.

It kinda makes sense. Read on the news 300,000 dead! . Or 250,000 dead! There is no difference on the empathic response although one has 50,000 more dead people. Read 1 kid is suffering and your heart tears to pieces.

We are a weird species for sure.

chepox,

I stopped reddit usage altogether. Like you. A statement to myself really. But a righteous one because I am standing with the good guys here. And I feel good about myself.

chepox,

Anyone with a link to the trailer? I know I could just Google it but part of a rich experience when reading comments is links to sources and other QOL stuff.

chepox,

I have been here for a few weeks. The state of the communities then and now is like black and white. Huge growth. That is excellent news.

The thing is it is a complicated setup. I can’t, for some reason, find some communities in search from others. And I consider myself tech savvy. That is a barrier for new users to overcome and it might be too much.

How to use Python to Perform a Paired Sample T-test (bit.ly)

This is a tutorial that covers what the paired sample t-test is, btiefly, before going into the practical details. I found that it helped me understand when to use this test but the most awesome part is that I now know how to apply this test with Python. I also discovered a new package, called Pingouin, which seems great to use...

chepox,

This is a great write up. Very complete and thorough. Keeping this one for later reference.

Thanks for sharing.
