So glad to see former reddit third party developers and apps rising to the occasion! I sincerely hope that the Infinity devs and other FOSS initiatives are coming onboard too.
The new major version of Lemmy is now ready, and we need your help with testing. Most importantly it uses HTTP for API requests now, which is much more efficient than websocket. Additionally Two-factor-auth is supported. There are also countless other improvements and bug fixes....
Can we please get the 10K char post limit raised to 50K or even 100K chars in v0.18? Many mods are desperate to get their wikis/guides ported from reddit and this has been a showstopping issue.
I don't believe this feature exists yet, but I imagine it won't be long before it does. As far as I know, instances can only be blocked by the local admin.
Hi. Long-time vaper here, by now almost 10 years, after having smoked for almost 40 years. Stopped doing that the evening that I first tried vaping, haven't touched a cigarette since....
Sadly, Canada is little better. They've done an excellent job of vilifying vaping, and most provinces have taxed it so heavily as to discourage it over other tobacco use.
I was a pack a day smoker for more than 20 years, and was finally able to quit with the use of a JUUL. I later transitioned open pod vapes, and then to lower-strength freebase nicotine (20mg/ml). I was fortunate enough to get into DIY before our regulations made it pretty well impractical for mouth-to-lung vapers.

per user blocking of entire instance
I would like to be able to block full instances for a user. My example is to not see any content from lemmynsfw.com....
How is vaping treated in your country, at the moment?

Does Lemmy have moderators? What do they do?
I'm thinking of creating a community (or two, or...) but am worried about taking on a lot of work. What tasks are involved?
