I'm going to scream if I have to watch another talk about interactive story telling and one of the tips is "Create compelling characters". No shit! If that is your problem then you're already doomed. No one assumes that you already know how to tell good stories and gets into the nuts and bolts and structure of interactive stories. I blame GDC and them focusing too much on newbies. GDC is pointless for me because very few talks assume you're already really good and want to be better.

claudius,

@grumpygamer
"Have more than 15fps"
"Be immersive"
And probably the best advice
"Make some profit so you can continue to make games"

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I gave up over a 150,000 followers on Twitter to be on Mastodon full time. Yes, the engagement and reach is a lot less, but I'll build it back up and it will be worth it. I hate to see people run back to Twitter because of friends or careers or whatever. You know what changes that? Being on Mastodon and bring those people here. Musk is a horrible person, don't be one of his enablers.

claudius,

@grumpygamer
I'm glad you're here!

My prediction that deno is the new iojs is becoming more true with every node release: https://social.lunchlurkers.com/@filmaj/110225701102032889 ✌️

I don’t mind that innovation in node needs hard forks or greenfield projects, but the folks in charge should look at making that an official and sustainable process rather than relying folks burning themselves out or burning VC cash. 🙏

claudius,

@janl please don't burn out people. But burning VC cash is something that I don't really mind.

claudius,

@janl @chucker I think we're all in agreement on these points. People absolutely deserve a long-term horizon and not some hire-and-fire mentality. I was just excited about the robin-hood dynamic, but it's not sustainable. I see that now.
