I just assumed the option for normal difficulty was to the left and that’s why the image is weirdly cropped like that.
There is a gap between the male and female grouping and the hardcore. This is what leads me to believe that the hardcore option is in a different grouping, probably horizontal grouping which is why I think the normal difficulty is to the left.
Fucking scared-ass weak pieces of shit that fire their gun immediately after hearing a firecracker…
You’re telling me they had time to identify a threat and make sure there were no innocent bystanders they could be hitting? Well obviously from the story that is clearly no.
If you’re so scared of people of color you fire your gun the second you hear a pop then you shouldn’t be a fuckin cop.
Cops are honestly the most scared, weakest willed, fightened little fucking losers in the whole world.
So imagine there exists a charitable billionaire that wants to do good. How in your eyes would a billionaire go about donating their money without drawing this same criticism?
Hasn’t Gates already pledged pretty much his entire fortune to charity after he dies?
I guess the Devil’s advocate argument here is would you rather trust Bill Gate’s charity to spend the money or the US Government? Because from what I’ve seen, any time there is excess money in the US government it is not spent on social programs but on enriching government contractors and tax breaks for the wealthy.
Gives a really good breakdown of the role of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation had in the global pandemic response and how they donated more money to the WHO during that time than any member country. How they have close ties to the WHO and how they hoarded the IP rights to the COVID vaccine resulting in lower income countries not having access to the vaccine.
Lol I’m gonna get bashed for this, but y’all sound like boomers who have only ever used a smartphone on occasion. Or like people did back in the early 2010s before touchscreen phones got good.
You’re all gonna sit there and tell me with a straight face those tiny ass buttons allow you to type faster than on a touchscreen smartphone? Maybe you’re more accurate but there’s no way you’re faster, even then I’d still doubt the accuracy part because of the extremely small buttons placed so closely together.
Smartphone typers can write over a hundred words per minute and much much more with other keyboard input entry methods like swipe/swype.
I bet if we were to ask Gen Z or Gen Alpha to try those phones with keyboards they’d probably say they were trash and ask how we used them. Once you get used to using a touchscreen to type it really is better. I’m assuming most of y’all are light phone users that only use their phone for the occasional texting and app usage, not power users.
If they were just talking about Reddit, I’d assume something dodgy was going on connected with the IPO. But Quora is supposedly back from the dead too… Am I missing something glaringly obvious here?
If you read the linked article it’s the latter. They explicitly say Google changed their algorithm and reddit consistently ranks at the top now. Even over the articles which the reddit thread is about.
Everyone’s talking about heat pumps these days as a better way to warm your home. They even pull double duty, replacing your air conditioner in summer. The great thing is that they’re generally more energy-efficient than old-school heaters, and they don’t burn any fuel, so replacing that old gas furnace can really shrink...
because “transferring” velocity somehow took less energy than generating it. that would be fucking wild
Obviously not the FTL part but elastic collisions are definitely a thing. They transfer velocity with essentially no loss and take way less energy than it would to generate the same amount of force required to provide the same velocity.
Are y’all actually torrenting Linux ISOs. Cus I recommend. Its way faster and fun to have a collection of like 30 distros and try and new branch of the larger Linux tree. I just assume its a joke but I only started torrenting Linux ISO because of seeing it replied so much lol.
If you can orchestrate an hash conflict attack across many seeders for a file the size of an ISO then you’ve earned it lol. That’s like government agency levels of complexity and even then it’s still a bit of a stretch cuz there are easier ways.
I’ve been seeing a lot of anti-voting sentiment going around. Can’t believe I have to say this, but you need to vote. Not only is there more to the election than just the president. (State policy, Senate, house), but not voting is not an act of protest. C’mon guys
While I agree with communism in theory, some of the language on the page regarding revolution is problematic IMO and is not going to gain the party any favors.
Also some of the stuff they have listed on the site is pretty hilarious:
The German Revolutions in 1918 and 1923, and the British General Strike in 1926, show us that even in the economic powerhouses of capitalism, the contradictions of capitalism cannot be fundamentally overcome. In fact, in 1968, the largest revolutionary general strike in history shook France. This was a country that had been lauded for its high living standards, and it occurred during a period of economic upswing!
Literally every example they list of “the contradictions of capitalism cannot be fundamentally overcome” is an example of a country that is still capitalist lol. (Maybe because the real life examples of communism objectively haven’t turned out that great.) So they’ve continued to overcome them. And sure you can argue a country like France has a lot of socialist programs and legislation but it’s certainly still a capitalist country.
Not just widely used, but a monopoly. TVs don’t come with any other ports and now they’re restricting who can use this technology that has no other choice.
There needs to be an antitrust lawsuit against the HDMI forum IMO.
Yes, I know it’s a Verge link, but I found the explanation of the legal failings quite funny, and I think it’s “important” we keep track of which obscenely rich people are mad at each other so we can choose which of their kingdoms to be serfs in.
Did you read the sentence directly after? They never claimed that non-written contracts don’t exist, they said they are very hard to uphold in court, which is perfectly true:
proving that an unwritten contract exists, what its terms are, and if they are enforceable is extraordinarily difficult, and courts do not like doing it, especially for ultra-sophisticated parties with a long history of dealing.
