@coolboymew @Rocc @jeff as someone who has been using a RPi 4 as his HTPC for years now, SAVE YOURSELF DON'T DO IT

I'm looking at buying one of those prebuilt mini PCs from Canada Computers to use as an HTPC, even with their miserable (for desktop) specs they run circles around a Pi and don't have the graphics capabilities all locked down by binary blobs needed to even turn them on

@coolboymew @Rocc @jeff it could have been, but it ain't. The hardware is all there that should let it drive H.264 & H.265 at 1080p 60Hz but you can't get the necessary binary blobs to unlock the decoders

Changing where the borders go is possible. But borders should not change hands by invasion. This is what we have the UN for.

@thor I'm no fan of Putin and I can probably be called anti-Russian without it being slander, but the makings of this NATO-Russia proxy war in Ukraine has its basis in over 30 years of American chauvinism and attempts of economic colonization of the former Soviet Union from 1991 and into the first decade of the 2000s. The American attitude was that they "won" the cold war and treated Russia as a defeated foe, instead of letting her be a full member of the community of nations throughout the Yeltsin years.

@mangeurdenuage @coolboymew it's another sign of how fucked up mobile and internet access is here in Canada. Devices are way marked up and it used to be standard that you'd essentially lease-to-own your devices on a THREE YEAR contract until the government actually had to step in and make a law limiting mobile contracts to two years
