Hi, my name is Monique, the Crazy Dutchy. I'm living in Southern Netherlands in a lovely apartment, and I am fully blind. I am a volunteer radio presenter for Ultimate Radio UK, interested in Vast Horizon, a game by BunkiCenter. I love music, singing, cooking, writing, audio, building my own creations with #Lego, #StarTrek old and new, spending time with friends. And, I enjoy chatting and meeting new people. I'm not into dating and am happily single, just so you know.

Good morning everyone. :-)

It’s Friday, and the weekend will be here in a few more hours.

Always remember, you are unique, special, and one of the kind. Embrace what makes you amazing and shine like a star. Go relax, and know that you are enough.

Today we are gonna be talking about Low-Energy Transfer.

A low-energy transfer is a strategic path in space that allows spacecraft to shift their orbits with significantly reduced fuel consumption compared to other conventional transfers. These energy-efficient routes are applicable within the Earth-Moon system and can also extend to other celestial systems. One disadvantage of these trajectories is that they require more time to complete than their higher-energy counterparts, which use more fuel for quicker transfers. However, by adhering to these low-energy paths, spacecraft can cover vast distances with minimal adjustments to their velocity, thereby optimizing fuel efficiency and enabling prolonged missions in outer space.

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 Good morning and a lovely day to you, hope you are well!

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 Thank you, my day is a bit boring and lazy, nothing much exciting going on at the moment. But after yesterday, I think I may have needed a lazy day.

Good morning awesome people!! :-)

I hope you’re all having a great day/night.

Always remember you matter and you are very much worth it. It’s gonna be very hot today, which is not fun. Your girl is not a fan of the heat.

Today we are gonna be talking about particle accelerators.

A particle accelerator is a powerful machine used to accelerate charged particles, such as electrons, protons, and ions, to very high speeds and energies. The particles are accelerated by electric fields and focused into a beam by magnetic fields. Particle accelerators come in two basic shapes - circular and linear. A circular accelerator has a ring shape, and the beam of particles travels around the loop. On the other hand, a linear accelerator has a straight-line path, with the particles traveling from one end to the other. It is possible to combine several accelerators to increase particle energies progressively.

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 good morning, and I also don't like heat. It's not so hot here, but definitely warmer weather and spring are on the way. Hope you are doing well and stay cool!

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 Thank you, my day has been ok, I'm pretty tired and soon off to bed, it's been a long and busy day but generally not bad.

It’s annoying when I have to spend fifteen minutes editing up the show because I made too many silly fuck ups.

Still, those listening back will have no idea, so I shouldn’t really be posting this. Should probably maintain the mystery, or some shit.

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren You try harder than I ever have, plenty of mishaps in my show, even a rather incorrect date, it sure is not the 21ste of May today. Woops?

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren Huh, who ever says that? We are all volunteers doing this for fun, not as a paid job, or are you getting paid for what you do?

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren If something breaks really badly, like last week when my pc suddenly just went funny and I had to reboot mid show, I did fix the archive up a bit, but unlike what I would have done in the past, I didn't fuss to make it exactly 3 hours, it was about 10 to 15 minutes short.

I just realized that the iPhone SE battery is smaller than the Jelly Star battery. Not by much, but it is. The Jelly Star battery is half the size of almost every Android phone battery, even the cheapest Samsung phones from several years ago. So when I say Apple could have tried a little harder, I can back that up with actual examples. Hopefully the next SE has a much larger battery, or Magsafe, or both. I hesitate to recommend them to anyone at this point because you basically can't function without a power bank. Meanwhile, the Jelly Star is turning out to be an amazing media device, especially now that I figured out how to make Foobar2000 for Android more accessible.

crazydutchy,

@simon I am using the SE2022, and I am pretty happy with it. Now I don't do a lot of traveling and navigating, but my battery usually lasts me throughout the day. So, I guess that then depends on what you are using the phone for. SE's are also a fair amount cheaper and this one still has touch ID and a home button. Those things were more important to me when I got it last year.

Good morning Fediversers, have a lovely Tuesday.

Ooh yayayayayay, the Netherlands is in the grand final this Saturday! Along with another favourite of mine, Austria!

crazydutchy,

@menelion Early on, I did not like our song at all. But that generally is a good sign, most of our entries I liked right away failed, the ones I was not sure about did really good. I think O'G3NE in 2017 was the exception to that.

crazydutchy,

@menelion Oh yes, De Diepte was a really good and emotional song. And well, as for Ireland this year, I absolutely agree with you, I don't like that one at all. I did not care for Cha Cha cha last year either, even though everyone was upset it didn't win.

Fair warning, the first semi final is about to start, and I will be posting. Mute that tag if needs be.

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren Hmm, why are they not allowed to see our posts?

It’s just been pointed out to me that the reason Apple runs a trade-in programme for older devices is so they can reduce the size of the used market, and has fuck all to do with recycling.

That’s blown my tiny mind.

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren Weird, why on earth would they do that?

Good morning everyone!!! :)

I hope you’re all having a great weekend.

I enjoyed going to the library and I love how they always have something awesome there.

Always remember to be kind to others, and most importantly yourself. Reading is awesome and so are you.

Today we are gonna be talking about Doppler Cooling.

Doppler cooling is a technique to slow down and cool atoms. This method exploits the Doppler effect, where the frequency of light changes relative to an observer moving toward or away from the light source. When atoms are irradiated with laser light tuned slightly below their absorption frequency, atoms moving towards the light see it blue-shifted (increased frequency), which is closer to their absorption frequency, and hence, they absorb it. Upon absorbing the blue-shifted photons, atoms receive a momentum kick opposite to their direction of motion, thus slowing them down. The atoms then re-emit photons randomly which further leads to an overall reduction in their speed and thus their kinetic energy, effectively causing a decrease in temperature.

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 Good morning, and have a lovely Sunday!

What can I do to get better at reading out loud?

crazydutchy,

@evilcookies98 Good question, since I can't read out loud either, I don't have the answer but hope you will find someone who does.

crazydutchy,

@Woodyanna @evilcookies98 I also think, reading from braille is far easier than reading out loud from speech. I know I can't do it well.

TIL that if you cancel your Netflix sub and don't pick it up again within ten months, they'll delete your account, along with the ten years worth of viewing history attached to it. And they won't warn you they're about to do it.

Piracy, man; it's not a crime.

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren Weird, the one time I did in fact end my subscription to Netflix, quite a while ago now, they did warn me that if I did not start using my account again within a certain time, they would fully delete it. I had no history at the time, so it didn't bother me.

Good morning amazing awesome people!!! :)

I hope you’re all having a good day/night.

It’s always important to be kind to yourself, and remember, one act of kindness goes a long way. It creates an affect of goodness across many peoples lives.

Today we are gonna be talking about Meteor Shower.

A meteor shower is a celestial event in which a large number of meteors are observed to originate from one point in the night sky, known as the radiant. These meteors are caused by streams of cosmic debris called meteoroids entering Earth's atmosphere at extremely high speeds on parallel trajectories. Most of the meteors are smaller than a grain of sand, and hence, they disintegrate and never hit the Earth's surface. However, friction with the atmosphere heats the meteoroids, making them glow and creating brilliant streaks of light as seen from the ground. Meteor showers are named after the constellation in which their radiant lies.

crazydutchy,

@Quietgirl82 Good morning and have a lovely Tuesday, hope your day will be good and thank you for the encouragement each day!

Was just checking the data usage on my phone, because I only get 50gb a month now, where for at least the past fifteen years I’ve had unlimited.

Anyway, my allowance refreshes in 3 days, and I still have 90.8gb left of my 50gb.

I think I’ll be ok.

crazydutchy,

@DJDarren And well, everything is expensive, so I can quite get it that you try to do it for as little money as you can.
