this comment reads suspiciously like it was written by an LLM (eg ChatGPT). was it? please don't do that!

@cypherpunks@lemmy.ml avatar

“First-term state Rep. Roger Wilder, R-Denham Springs, who sponsored the child labor measure and owns Smoothie King franchises across the Deep South, said he filed the bill in part because children want to work without having to take lunch breaks.”

cypherpunks, to fediverse in Mastodon security update: every version prior to today's is vulnerable to remote user impersonation and takeover
@cypherpunks@lemmy.ml avatar

The lack of details in the advisory is only a minor impediment for a malicious person who wants to figure out how to implement their own exploit for this vulnerability. Anyone can read the patch that fixes it and figure it out.

TLDR: if you run your own instance, update it ASAP. If an instance you rely on hasn’t updated yet, consider asking its admins to do so. And if they don’t update it soon, you might want to reconsider your choice of instance.

cloudflare is an intelligence company who’s flagship product involves them mitming your TLS.

why bother self-hosting, if you do it from behind cloudflare?

🤔

both require phone numbers, and both concentrate metadata in a central location (Amazon servers, in the case of signal).

both sort of pretend to be free open source software, and sort of are but with a lot of caveats.

telegram doesn’t even have end-to-end encryption (except for some wacky not-peer-reviewed thing in 1:1 ‘secret chats’ which are rarely used); at least signal has it beat there.

simplex.chat is a new messenger which doesn’t have any of the above problems and seems quite promising imo.

thanks for clarifying. i'm deleting your generated comment per rule 4 (spamming) as well as two other generated comments you posted elsewhere; if another admin wants to undelete any of these i would be surprised.

please do not post LLM-generated comments without clearly labeling them as such. imo this is common sense, and doesn't need its own rule, rule 4 is sufficient.

This doesn’t include the vehicle in the post, but has some similar ones like this:

black and white photo of a steam powered track-drive vehicle

The Hornsby steam crawler: 1910

This machine was shipped to Canada from England in 1910, being sold to the Northern Light Power & Coal Company for use hauling coal to the Klondike gold fields in the Yukon, where it worked until 1927. This was the only sale, and the Hornsby company became disillusioned with their "chain track"and sold the patent rights to the Holt Manufacturing Company in 1914.
