dalekcaan,

It’s an ultra minimalist representation of Loss, but backward

dalekcaan,

It’s a hexbear account, so probably because it doesn’t fit daddy Putin’s narrative.

dalekcaan,

Some people are really weird when it comes to things being “fair.” I forget the details but I remember a study where given the option of getting $100 and a stranger getting $200, a good chunk of people would rather neither of them get anything.

dalekcaan,

Man cartoons in the 80s were wild. You could be watching the pretty pink pony show, and still the animators couldn’t help but throw you into some twisted dark fantasy adventure.

dalekcaan,

The packet contains silica dioxide, which is non-toxic. The only reason the bags make such a big deal about not eating them is to make sure you don’t mistake them for food they might be packed with, and because the bag itself is a potential choking hazard.

dalekcaan,

Did you enjoy that, boy? Cockney urine all over your face? That was a bad time for you, wasn’t it boy?

dalekcaan,

Man with all the shit with Israel I keep forgetting they’re talking about Palestine, Ohio.

dalekcaan,

“If I were to ask your brother what kind of butts he likes, how would he answer?”

dalekcaan,

It works the same as the original puzzle. If you ask the lying small butt brother, he’ll lie and say his brother would say he likes small butts. If you ask the truthful big butt brother, he’d say his brother would say he likes big butts, because he knows his brother likes small butts and would lie about it.

Essentially the negatives work out so that each brother answers with the kind of butt they themselves like, which you can then use to determine which is truthful (though at this point that somehow seems less important).

dalekcaan,

Yes, but you’re not asking him what his brother likes, you’re asking him what he would say he likes, which is what flips it. You’re basically making sure the answer is a lie regardless of which brother you ask.

dalekcaan,

Glad to help!

dalekcaan,

True. It seems there are different versions of the puzzle, but from a quick search it was popularized by the movie Labyrinth, and there they get around it by having a second set of guards who don’t know the answer explain the setup.

dalekcaan,

Oh my god I hate that. The self checkout constantly freaks out if I bag things before it’s ready or move my groceries around, then basically accuses me of stealing and calls someone over to count my groceries (who obviously doesn’t give a shit and is probably more aggravated by the stupid thing than me, they just scan their badge without checking anything) which is pretty ballsy considering the absolute highway robbery their prices have become.

What animated film or tv show is this? (i.imgur.com)

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don’t think it’s excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

dalekcaan,

Wait, really? I thought it was pretty universally hated. I wonder if critics gave it good scores for fear of being lumped in with the idiots who were pissed with Ariel being played by a black woman.

dalekcaan,

“Kramer, what’s going on in there?”

“It’s the nacelles, Jerry! They’re right across from my window!”

“Well can’t you shut the shades?”

“They are shut.”

dalekcaan,

I wouldn’t say the NCR is bad per se. They seem misguided, and there are definitely bad people in it, but most of them do seem to be trying to make the Mojave a better place.

I don’t buy the game trying to tell me Caesar’s justified, though. Traders saying “they keep the raiders at bay,” as if they’re not doing just as much raping and murdering as the raiders.

The only faction I actually like is the Followers of the Apocalypse. They seem like the only ones trying to make things better without serving their own agenda. It’s too bad you can’t do more for them.

dalekcaan,

Yeah, sorry, I didn’t word that well. The game makes it clear that the legion is the bad guy, I just mean the NPCs who defend the legion don’t make a very good case

Teenager finds ‘holy grail’ Lego octopus from 1997 spill off Cornwall coast (www.theguardian.com)

The octopus is one of nearly 5m Lego pieces that fell into the sea in 1997 when a storm hit a cargo ship 20 miles off Land’s End, Cornwall. While 352,000 pairs of flippers, 97,500 scuba tanks, and 92,400 swords went overboard, the octopuses are considered the most prized finds as only 4,200 were onboard.

dalekcaan,

Thanks for clarifying, I thought it was odd considering the octopus doesn’t seem like a rare piece.

dalekcaan,

I mean, by virtue of the the fact that Trump will 1000% make things worse in Gaza, literally yes.

You’re talking like if you get the option between getting shot in the foot or the face, you’d pick the face just to make a point.

dalekcaan,

Cool, by opting out they get shot in the face. But you get to feel better about yourself so congrats.

dalekcaan,

Look, dude, I’d absolutely love for the situation to be better than it is, but the fact of the matter is, it’s not. These are our choices. You can pick bad or worse, and if you don’t pick, it’s going to be worse. You can dream about better options all you want, and if they were available I’d absolutely go for them, but refusing to avoid making the situation worse because you want it to be better is idealistic at best and actively harmful at worst. I’m glad you can feel good about yourself letting the worst come to pass, but some of us are actually trying to do damage control, and that defeatist attitude isn’t helping. That’s my stance, and I’ve spent enough time expounding on it. You can take it or leave it, either way I’m done.

dalekcaan,

Well I appreciate you saying so. It just frustrates me how many people are okay with handing Trump the presidency despite how obvious he’s made it what a bad choice he is. I don’t like Biden either, but at this point I see him as a necessary evil.

dalekcaan,

Really? Huh, TIL. I just assumed it was the person I responded to since it came soon after I posted, but I guess that was presumptuous of me.
