god, i just realized my freezer is the worst of both worlds: door is oriented vertically, meaning its crazy energy inefficient when you open it, AND you have to pull out baskets to get to things, which means everything is a pain to organize and access
yayyy i have a new sharps container. now i just have to figure out wtf to do with the old one. the city waste disposal website is mostly geared towards companies dumping medical waste
i think the craziest part about the internet industry deciding to blow everything up is that i’ve been told half of modern programming is knowing how to google answers to issues you’re having
@emaytch It's harder to recreate ChatGPT than it is to recreate Google. So if they can make Google and all future Googles useless, they can charge you money for access to ChatGPT and maybe you won't have any alternatives.
idk i just think its kinda funny to hear a wikipedia admin talk about how hard they try to get new editors to wikipedia after, what, a decade of alienating trans ppl and their allies, aka the fastest growing group of fastidious nerds in the world rn

if douglas adams said th at you distrust any tech made after you turn 35 what does it mean if i also retroactively distrust all the tech made in my twenties too
@emaytch i have been wondering the same thing. maybe adams had the unviersality wrong and it's just that all technology introduced in douglas adams' twenties was exciting and all the technology introduced after he specifically turned 35 actually was sinister. it's a possibility
