UPS workers, along with all workers, unquestionably deserve a fair share, if not the entirety, of the value they generate for their employers. Unfortunately, our existing systems often fall short in recognizing this fundamental principle. However, one powerful recourse available to them is the exercise of their rights as workers and union members through strikes. The strike is commonly regarded as the union's most potent tool, akin to a muscle that atrophies if left dormant. To forge a better future, we must actively encourage greater union participation and urgently pass the PRO Act to safeguard workers' rights.

A reminder that while for profit companies could provide for systemic needs and underserved communities, they won't if there isn't enough of a profit margin for them.

Or spends $300 in online shopping... and then again after the next paycheck.

Totally normal and healthy behavior 😬

I wouldn't... No GPS or computerized banking, having to go to a physical store or order from a crappy catalog. Nah, no way would I ever.

Daniel Ellsberg's life serves as a stark reminder that the US government is not impervious to deception and propaganda, particularly when it comes to combating socialism, even when it goes against the wishes of the majority. Ellsberg, a former military analyst, exposed the lies and cover-ups surrounding the Vietnam War by leaking the Pentagon Papers, a top-secret government study. His brave act revealed a pattern of misinformation employed by those in power to justify military actions and suppress socialist movements. Ellsberg's actions highlight the importance of critical thinking and holding government accountable, reminding us that even democratic institutions are susceptible to manipulation and distortion of truth.

  1. They have at least some if not many supporters of their ideologies. (Even in the most repressive states the need some degree of this to maintain power)
  2. Systems that empower those that support them and disadvantage those dissent.

Honestly, take a look at gerrymandering and voter suppression in some US states. These are systems that facists are using to cement their positions of power within state legislatures. In addition to banning books, blocking professors they don’t like from tenure, and turning some public universities and schools into religious institutions.

These are all things that are happening in some US states and if that surprises you then you haven’t been paying attention.

If you want to make a website to list various resources, then by all means. I think as far as existing sites that aim to do something similar, Trans Lifeline Resources is my favorite.

As far as "How precise do we want to get with these resources?" I am not quite certain what you mean. If you mean, how does one use one of these resources, then it will vary based on the resource. Some provide a community to talk, information, financial, or relocation assistance, all of which is usually described in further detail when you click the link to the resource.

If you mean, how detailed/plentiful do we want to get with the resources, I don't yet have an idea, however as more are added It might make more sense to adjust how it is organized or break up the list.

However, If you have additional ones you wish to add, just comment them for others to see, and I plan to at the very least update the original post and potentially cross-posts.

What are the best anime tracking sites?

Hello guys! I'm wondering what you guys are using and which anime tracking sites do you deem the best. Currently I'm using MyAnimeList, used AniDB but later on still returned to MAL even though AniDB seems more advanced. Not saying that MAL is bad, but I'm wondering if there are any alternatives worth using/supporting instead

Nothing would surprise me from them, I wouldn’t be surprised if they announced wheelchair bans. For a party that openly promotes misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, and transphobia… I wouldn’t be surprised if they went full tilt into ableism.

I hold a differing viewpoint

Lemmygrad, like any community centered around a particular political ideology, faces challenges in maintaining effective moderation. However, it is evident that they are making concerted efforts to moderate their platform and proactively address instances of bigotry. This aligns with the approach we adopt within our own community.

Lemmygrad enforces a comprehensive set of rules that explicitly prohibit various forms of bigotry, including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia. Furthermore, they have implemented measures to prevent and remove content that falls under the category of pornographic or sexually explicit material, even if it is labeled as not safe for work. Additionally, Lemmygrad explicitly disallows the propagation of dangerous Nazi ideologies, such as right-deviationist factions like patsocs, nazbols, strasserists, duginists, and similar groups.

While Lemmygrad operates as a socialist instance with a specific ideological focus, it is important to recognize that the community is not a monolithic entity. Within Lemmygrad, there are individuals who engage in discussions that encompass differing perspectives, including those who acknowledge and do not deny certain historical events.

While political disagreements may exist, it is evident that Lemmygrad is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive and respectful environment by actively moderating their platform and taking measures to prevent and remove instances of bigotry. Similarly, we strive to foster such an atmosphere within our own instance.

Beehaw also plans to possibly re-federate at some point in the future as moderation tools improve for this platform. Important thing to note about beehaw is all of their communities are tailor made and moderated by instance admins. They have a “white glove” sort of approach to moderating that I can appreciate, but don’t necessarily want for my “home” instance.
