are aruba AP-555s supposed to be glossy, have both an AP-555 and AP-535 sticker? for the second, are they supposed to be labeled as an AP-535 but show up as an AP-555 in boot?

@rachel aruba is fairly ok for now. from what i’ve heard about arubaos 10, they’ve gone full mandantory cloud shit for IAP and controller mode which isn’t great for used hardware. i’m definitely hoping that a lot of the gear will still support v8 as long as possibles. loads of cheap 345s on ebay and the 5xx series APs are getting cheaper on that side

@rachel cisco is hell, there’s a reason why i don’t use used cisco stuff for the home. meraki is a related fucking pain too because of the cloud only thing

@rachel ruckus isn’t too bad last i checked but that’s been a few years back. aruba definitely is a pretty solid contender for home wifi because of the whole IAP thing and controllers getting pretty cheap if that’s your thing. licenses apply for controllers but it might be possible that they haven’t been wiped before being sold.
