Every time I need to work with GraphQL, a bit of my soul dies. You know a great data interchange format which is supported by every major programming language and could have been used as a query interchange format?

The one your GraphQL endpoint is probably returning results in anyway?

It's JSON.

Via @spacehobo, the EICAR antivirus test pattern is actually a fully executable 16-bit MS-DOS .com binary: https://blog.nintechnet.com/anatomy-of-the-eicar-antivirus-test-file/

I still can't get over the fact that @jorge has started a Fedora-based distribution called, of all names, Bluefin. (Still debating whether to let others in on the joke of why that name is hilarious, since it doesn't seem to be common knowledge.)

The Apple A10 was the first A-series chip name to have a suffix, A10 Fusion. It was their first big.LITTLE implementation, so it sort of made sense.

The A11 Bionic was seemingly named because "A10 had a cool suffix, and Bionic is a cool word."

And then for the next 5 generations, they forgot to ask anyone if they should change the cool suffix, so they kept using the same up to A16 Bionic.

The latest is the A17 Pro, because everything they do is Pro. Everything.

autolycus,

@foo Not everything is Pro. Some things are Air.

It appears I've run out of Internet to read. Seems a good time to go to bed, maybe there will be some more waiting for me when I wake up.

If I ever build an interactive website in the future, I'm totally going to ask the user when they register to provide their preferred gander ("this data will be used for targeted marketing purposes").

Okta Verify just scared my cat, who was sleeping on my phone.

There's probably a company infosec policy which forbids cats from accepting the "Yes, it's me" prompt.

@foo I have to admit I was not aware of the history behind that "secret handshake", and neither of Lowtax' passing. Damn.

It's been a while since I logged on there.

@foosel Funny enough, I didn't even know that all was based on a SA thing until the last few years. I just knew it as a meme via that Flash video from decades ago.

Dilution of Precision in GPS is one of those concepts which makes my brain hurt. First of all, the fact that it is able to work out its own factor of error, but harder to wrap my head around is the fact that the value is dimensionless.

"The DOP value is 1.2."
"1.2 whats?"
"Just 1.2. But 1.2 is a very good value to have."
