I’ve been rocking @kde in my work laptop for about a month now and it’s been amazing. Everything works. KDE Wayland screen sharing tiling it’s nice. So now I send the foundation 20 euros a month. I hope it continues for many years to come.
One reason I HATE #orms like #activerecord for #ruby or #sqlalchemy for #python is that they create table structures that make no sense. The structures can be ridiculous, like:
@gigatexal yeah, almost any tool, used badly will give bad results, and i've yet to see tools that could not be used badly in something as flexible as programming languages and information systems. I advocate for people so learn SQL and how database works whether they use an ORM or not.
Regarding polymorphism, my team purposely decided to use it for a specific use case in a recent app, after considering the problem and discussing the impact of the solution, but it's really rare.
@gigatexal Changelog Nightly is entirely automated. We’ve taken steps to curb spam/malware but it’s cat & mouse and all data is from GH so they are subverting their checks too.
