@pfefferle I tried federating my wp.com blog but it barfed my very long posts on the timeline, and there was no way to customize how long the extract would be. The wp.com federation needs a lot more finetuning and I don't have the money to pay 25€/month for a personal blog.

@pfefferle Honestly, 80%+ of my problems with the federation as it appears in wp.com would be solved if the plugin respected the "read more" element in wordpress and replaced the rest of the post with a link. It's fine with shorter posts, but it does not work for my particular use case.
