The Lemmy User Experience is Better When Centralized into Fewer Instances
Most people access the Fediverse through one of the large instances: lemmy.world, kbin, or beehaw. New or small instances of Lemmy have no content by default, and can most easily get content by linking to larger Lemmy instances. This is done manually one "Community" at a time (I spent 15 minutes doing this yesterday). Meanwhile,...
A US-Backed, Far Right–Led Revolution in Ukraine Helped Bring Us to the Brink of War (jacobin.com)
How does Lemmy work with search engines?
One thing Reddit dominates on is search results. I'm looking things up and seeing so many links to reddit, which I guess is going to help keep that place relevant (unless those subreddits stay dark)....
Tucker Carlson OUT at Fox News (www.mediaite.com)

Users need an option to block instances
browsing through All has so much pro-fascist posts coming from lemmygrad that it drowns out all the other instances. I'm surprised they're even federated by default but we should have an option to block instances from All if lemmy is deadset on federating with them just because they are fascists with a red and yellow flag......
The amount of Russophobia and anti Russian censorship ongoing currently on Reddit is astounding.
I am observing a very similar sentiment to Sinophobia, now regarding Russia. Reddit's audience is primarily 80% USA + West EU, and the rest 20% also includes a lot of East Europe and other countries, leaving for 5-10% anti-hatred people. On the other hand, Western world makes up for a mere 12% of the world's population....
Can I rant about "YouTube Kids" for a second?
What is with the “made for kids” bs? I know it’s about COPPA compliance, but I also think YouTube bears some responsibility for how stupid they have made their system....
