@atom @yassie_j they get everything mastodon gets pretty quickly, its a very soft fork. there’s a lot of other forks which are similar. if mastodon were to make some shitty moves that influence the software side of things though (besides just being generally not good to use cause thats all mastodon knows amiright hahahfngngngnf i use masto who am i kidding) im sure a lot of them would diverge more though

codeberg’s reasoning is that the repository contained proprietary content but they didn’t receive any takedown requests so i don’t get why they’re being proactive, feels really weird to me. they also said the repository was far too big, but i don’t buy that reasoning either, just 2gb with all of the history- but it was regularly trimmed. i think their main reasoning is the proprietary thing which is such a weird excuse when they hadn’t been told by anyone to take it down, for all they know nobody whos stuff is being archived minds it
