I appreciate wanting to measure engagement, but I’m pretty fed up with links in newsletters being email tracking links with redirects. I’d say 80% of links I would otherwise find useful, are now utterly useless, unless I agree to being tracked. Which I do not.

I wish mastodon had a better way of porting accounts. With the current setup, you can’t really own your own content unless you own the infrastructure, and let’s get real, nobody owns their own infrastructure anymore. If you choose to move, you’re kinda fucked.

Speaking of solar, when will batteries be economical? Overall, we generate more energy then we consume but because the two don’t coincide, and because we get 1/3 at best as feed-in tariff, we still pay on average ~$150/month.

🦁 Today is my last day at Envato after a wild (checks notes) 7 years, 2 months, and 18 days.

💔 There are some amazing people there and I will very much miss working with them.

🎓 I’ve made plenty of mistakes and would like to think I’ve grown from them all.

🌱 Hopefully, me stepping out of the business creates new opportunities for others to grow and succeed.
