It's easy enough to write a passable statement about why your app, too, is inventing the concept of stories again. It's another thing to reach any level of candor about an actual organizational opinion.

I think conversations about trends in the visual design of the interface often make the mistake of assuming an oppositional relationship between "flat"ness and "skeuomorphism," and we see that coloring the emergence of new language for visual styles, too.

Having AI write and read things like long emails says to me… don’t write long emails?

@DavidDarnes it functions as an admission of this idea imo. like, the substance is hidden and must be discovered and recontextualized at each step. I think often long emails (and many other convoluted comms in corporate environments) are the result of the unique social configuration of the office itself

There was an ad on TV for Apple TV+ and it was a sizzle reel of a few seconds of every show they have with the title of the show, and whether or not it was a new season. Mostly unidentifiable stuff.

Apple’s not the only company that does this, WBD does the same thing for Max, and I think it’s just awful.

Spend your time advertising a can’t-miss show, not trying to show people the quantity of shows. “We’ve got a bucket of shows you’ve never heard of!!”

Not a fully baked take, but... I think one reason hype is a poor indicator of potential is because the successful endpoint of new technology is mundanity.
