The Applied Networking Research Prize (ANRP) awards for 118 will go to:

Siva Kesava Reddy Kakarla for his work on verifying the correctness of nameservers ("SCALE: Automatically Finding RFC Compliance Bugs in DNS Nameservers", NSDI 2022)

Dennis Trautwein for his work on content-addressable peer-to-peer storage ("Design and Evaluation of IPFS: A Storage Layer for the Decentralized Web", ACM SIGCOMM 2022)

Ram Sundara Raman for his work on identifying and locating in-network censorship devices ("Network Measurement Methods for Locating and Examining Censorship Devices", ACM CoNEXT 2022)

Look out for their talks during the IRTF Open Meeting at IETF 118 in Prague in November, and online.

IRTF meetings at 117 in San Francisco start today!

The ACM/IRTF Applied Networking Research Workshop is in progress, with a panel discussion ("What do we want the Internet to look like in 20 years?") and research papers on DNS, BGP, network measurement, security, and more. Find the papers at https://irtf.org/anrw/2023/program.html – talks will be available to watch on the IETF channel on YouTube shortly

Then, later today at 17:30 Pacific, the research group meetings start with the Usable Formal Methods Research Group. The focus will be on sample problems to illustrate challenges in the use of formal methods plus an introduction to the Isabelle proof assistant.

The ACM/IRTF Applied Networking Research Workshop takes place on Monday, July 24, co-located with the IETF 117 meeting in San Francisco.

We have a great programme of research papers, a panel discussion on "What do we want the Internet to look like in 20 years?", and a keynote from Philip Levis ("It’s the End of DRAM As We Know It ").
