well glad to know they are only fisting them to the wrist then. why are you defending that, again?

Also heißt es tatsächlich “Guten Tag”.

Genutzt wird es aber natürlich eher wie Hallo (oder Tach). Außer man ist cool, und beginnt auch alle professionellen Gespräche mit Moin.

The latter.

“if you convict us of war crimes, we’ll commit more war crimes”

the PA has no direct involvement in the case

but we need to trust them that the standard is actually implemented

This feels like implementing a certificate authority system for individual users I wonder if it is feasible to use of a web of trust that is less cumbersome and more resilient than the original GnuPG WoT, that could do the same thing. Instead of hierarchical introductions you have trusted users vouch for you not being a bot (one could even think about extending this to general rule abidance, turning it into a full on reputation system). It would feel pretty bad to loose an account, just because whoever invited you later also invited a bunch of bots/untrustworthy users

This looks good, I’ll switch over as soon as they decided on a hoster. I don’t have too much experience working in open source projects, but I’ll try to contribute what I can

Weird KDE Panel resizing bug. Thinking of a complete reinstall (sh.itjust.works)

Whenever I resize the panel or the any other widget on the panel (e.g calendar widget) it doesn’t remember its size. It’s really annoying me. I am on Fedora 40, KDE 6.0.4. Nothing seems to fix it, thinking of a complete reinstall. Is anyone of you getting this bug?

There was a workaround someone posted that involved creating a new window rule that applies to all windows, I can’t find it rn, but maybe look into that?

You’re right, but it seems like a related issue. Worth a shot

There was a paper about that actually, results get better when asked politely

That’s because high-quality sources usually use formal and/or polite language, so priming the model with this sort of input enhances output

Also, it’s just nice

All of that is a solvable problem. We need to modernize the energy grid, because over large distances surplus and demand more easily equalize. Domestic energy consumption is fairly easy to cover with renewables and small to intermediate scale energy storage. The big consumers are heavy industry, and most of that can easily adapt by only running when there’s a surplus. With how cheap renewables are, they’d likely even save money in such a scenario
