Elon Musk is a non-state bad actor armed with a disinformation weapon that fans the flames of internal and trans-border conflicts including Israel-Gaza. A hard-charging and determined group called @ccdhate has shown how to hit Musk where it hurts but Musk has thrown a Slapp lawsuit at them in response.

A three-alarm fire has been ringing since Musk bought Twitter and made it a vehicle for fascists, white supremacists, misogynists and conspiracists. But where is the regulatory response? Reporters Without Borders now regards X as "the embodiment of the threat that online platforms pose to democracies".

The EU’s most senior authorities are standing in the way of requests for documents that are potentially in the public interest. “Things get stuck at the top of the tree” @EUombudsman Emily O'Reilly tells @epc_eu panel with regard to freedom of information requests. A “child of 5” would acknowledge that emails are documents, O'Reilly tells @epc_eu in a broadside against high levels of obfuscation by the EU's prickly panjandrums.

So now the Dutch government has collapsed how much further rightwards will the outgoing PM Mark Rutte tack to try leading a fifth government? Big question for Europe, too. Not least as Rutte who is one of the bloc's longest serving leaders, and nominally from a liberal party, checked out today showing an unbending preference for a migration policy that keeps families separated.
