Great post! Very informative! I have tried to install Kinoite but it’s tricky to do with partitions. I currently have all my data/files on a big partition and install the system in a different one, and I can’t seem to install Kinoite without “formatting” the disk. Will do in the future for sure!

I’ve been playa Red Dead Redemption (the first one) and I’m enjoying it a lot. I’ve decided to play without the on-screen map and it does wonders for immersion, recognizing areas, locations, where people are, etc. I highly recommend it!

Well I’m not a huge gamer, specially since I have a kid, but I was expecting GTA with horses, but I’m enjoying it a lot (I don’t really like GTA) anh I had not played this game, since I never had a console, but it came out for switch and I went for it. I’m not going to try to sell it to you. The no-map immersion is a big factor, I guess, which is new for me!

Looking to make the switch

Hi everyone, looking to make the switch from windows. I’m reasonably technically apt but not a programmer by any means. I’ve been doing some homework on which distro I would like to use and pop_os kinda feels like the right direction. I’m running an Nvidia 3060TI on a Ryzen 5600 chip set on an Asus tuf motherboard. Any...

Is Fedora “bad” for gaming? How so? I have steam installed and a couple of games but, granted, I don’t game much these days! Would like to know more as I kind of have settled for Fedora

That’s the premise behind AdNauseam, albeit only for ads and not general navigation: It clicks all the ads in the background, so the data won’t ever target the real you.

Yup! Monopoly alright. I’m lucky to have my bank’s app working like a payment entity on Android, without having to go through Google Pay.

To a “newbie”, what does this mean? I transitioned to Linux full time less than a year ago and settled with KDE. Will this affect me in any way?

Yeah that’s what I thought, thanks for the answer!

Even better, for you, and for the planet, is to buy second hand.

I didn’t mean a second hand Fairphone, I mean a second hand whatever phone.

But then you have to activate access to Less Secure Apps™. It’s so disgusting.

I thought it was too smooth and the rearview mirror on the third image proved it. What are you doing there??? 😂

5 years??? You change cars every 5 years?

Option 2. It’s the most robust. You’ll never lose it (provided you have the redundancy), you can use it offline, you can transfer it using a USB pen, it’s available in all platforms, including web. I’ve been using this for 8+ years, on my phone, desktop, laptop, company computer, etc. I store it on a personal cloud (and on each machine, of course, by syncing).

I do that sometimes. When the lenses have grease or salt from the beach, and I have no quick access to water, I’ll lick them. I don’t recommend it, but I do it.

Out of curiosity, which one did you stick with?

It is still true, at least in Europe. I mean, they’re not actually trying to destroy your life, you know, but they’re after the company’s best interests. They might help you, and might make things not the worst they possibly can, because that’ll give a bad rep, but they’re not your friend.
