Unless Nvidia improves the driver situation on Linux, I'll be switching to an AMD card next. I'm on a 3080 at the moment though so probably won't be for a while yet.
I've lurked on Reddit since the Digg exodus very rarely posting / commenting on anything. Although lemmy is lacking content and more niche communities at the moment I find myself actually wanting to take part in the discussions here and not just consuming.
I've dabbled with Linux over the years, first with Ubuntu in the early 2010s, then Elementary OS when that dropped, and a few years ago I really enjoyed how customizable the gui was with Xubuntu. I was able to make it look just like WIndows 2000 which was really cool....
I probably switch what I'm using every few months. The thing I cannot live without though is tiling support, whether just inherent to the window manager I'm using or an extension, I find it painful to use a computer for anything serious without one now.
Currently using KDE with the Bismuth extension (Fedora Kinoite) which isn't perfect but not bad. I'm eyeing Hyprland up from afar but as an Nvidia user I have too many issues on Wayland at the moment.
I'm resetting windows 10 on my Thinkpad T580 for work but would like to create a partition for linux. It's an older laptop and really chugs through games like Minecraft or RuneScape but I enjoy playing relaxing games while I listen to audiobooks at night. I grew up using windows which is why I've mostly used Ubuntu and ZorinOS...
I switched to silverblue a few months ago and then again a few weeks ago kinoite. I think the immutability and revert updates super easily is great. I think ostree is the future and I'm looking forward too seeing how it matures.
It was hard enough to get my family to switch from WhatsApp to signal. I think matrix would be a step too far. I do have account myself but haven't seen too many active rooms.
Just joined, and well, I'm thinking ill stay. Ive been looking for a good reddit alternative for a while now. devs, you've done quite some good work here.
it's very much borrowed from one of the reddit subs i frequent(ed) often, but the idea is to share what we're playing weekly and hopefully create discussions around those games (or simply have a sort of "check-in").
I finished it for the first time on the Steam Deck a couple of months ago. I loved it but I think I prefer the first one. I started the third one but haven't gotten very far in so far, not sure whether I like it.
Nvidia RTX 4000 Super specs leak is VRAM heaven (www.pcgamesn.com)
I used to browse lemmy and then browse reddit and post interesting stuff here
now I can't even browse reddit since there is a never ending stream of posts and comments on lemmy ^^...
it will improve :) (beehaw.org)
Which distro has the best GUI in your opinion?

New users; are any of you migrating to matrix/element too? Which rooms?
I'm down for more chat rooms, especially the alive and kicking rooms....
