British computer business Raspberry Pi is finalising plans to float on the stock market this month in a transaction that could value it at up to £500 million....
Oh, so this is why they put the hobbyists last in line when the ‘shortage’ happened. They prioritize companies to look better to the stock market. For some reason I thought they were non-profit but I guess if that was ever true it’s not now. I have to imagine this won’t be good for the average pi enjoyer.
My big stack of cartridge razor blades has just run out and I'd like to replace it with something less wastefull, and from what I hear a safety razor gives a better shave too....
You gotta decide if you want a fixed blade or adjustable, adjustable will cost more and have a higher learning curve but can give a closer shave. I like Merkur, but I’m sure there are other good brands. I started with a cheap fixed and then replaced it with an adjustable a few years later.
Microsoft has always been more than happy to make the market smaller by buying the competition and discontinuing their products shortly after. For some reason people didn’t think Xbox would do the same?
…wikipedia.org/…/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguishin 1998, Bill Gates stated: “One thing we have got to change in our strategy – allowing Office documents to be rendered very well by other people’s browsers is one of the most destructive things we could do to the company. We have to stop putting any effort into this and make sure that Office documents very well depends on PROPRIETARY IE capabilities. Anything else is suicide for our platform. This is a case where Office has to avoid doing something to destory [sic] Windows.”
Not just Gates, but all higher ups at Microsoft think this way. It’s kind of naive to think Xbox would be different IMHO.
If you actually are curious, they come in packs of 500 and we call that a reem of paper. They also come in boxes of 10 reems, and sometimes you can find a half a reem at the local shop but it’s probably the same price as a reem.
A controversial bill that would require all new cars to be fitted with AM radios looks set to become a law in the near future. Yesterday, Senator Edward Markey (D-Mass) revealed that the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act” now has the support of 60 US Senators, as well as 246 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, making...
The average American is 38.x years old. There are a lot of children, but the olds still run this country. China is around 37, Germany is around 39. I don’t think that 25% of America listens to AM broadcasts on a regular basis, but I do think at least 1/4 of the population thinks it should still exist.
I had MRSA once, it’s so easy to spread and there is zero doubt in my mind that it could be weaponized. Criminal investigations are necessary after TWO whistleblowers are offed. I’m not holding my breath though. Boeing is too entrenched in the MIP to be investigated in any real sense of the word.
For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don’t think it’s excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....
Are we talking about the Ghibli Earthsea movie? I actually enjoyed it, even though I read the books when I was younger. It was an interesting way to tell a large part of the story and doesn’t deserve the hate it gets IMO. But it’s also not an amazing adaptation either, it’s in a weird spot.
A readme file for Dylan Araps from 3 days ago saying “have taken up farming” and the github page for neofetch has also been archived. Good for him I guess.
I am also an IT nerd that hikes as much as I can, when the weather permits. Too many of my local trails have decent reception so I have to just forget my phone exists for a while.
This is why I don’t love snaps, proprietary backend. I think snaps actually work great for the most part, and flatpaks don’t support cli apps, only GUI.
I don’t think that’s correct, but I don’t know enough about the history of tiddy physics in games. Pretty sure SNK was on the ground floor with Fatal Fury 2.
