Ontario continues privatization of alcohol sales ... it's convenient, but is it good for taxpayers?

OPSEU argues this undermines the publicly-owned LCBO, thus acting as a form of privatization. “When the LCBO sells alcohol, the profit – $2.5 billion every year – gets invested in public services like health care and education,” wrote representatives. “When big box grocery stores are allowed to sell alcohol, the profit from those sales go into the pockets of their corporate CEOs.”

Canadians must pay attention to excess profits of the oil and gas industry.

May 16.24: PP set up his "Rage Against Trudeau Disinformation Podium" at ESSO, complete with Axe the Facts banners. Although contentious, it was Mr. Trudeau that invested in Canada by completing the TMX pipeline. A pipeline good for O&G, but they've decided to embrace PP's message of division, disinformation and rage. O&G have made 10’s of billions excess profit over the years...outrageous!

High prices are caused by corporate greed, not taxes

Corporate accountability is completely missing from the anti-tax narrative. Higher prices are always the fault of government spending — never the corporations that enjoyed soaring profits thanks to their pricing power. The omission has continued in the face of more and more economists noting the role corporate profits have played in driving inflation.

@dyckron Seems to be a way to keep subsidizing big oil with negligible returns for the taxpayer ... In some cases the subsidy for carbon capture is really generous – generous to big polluters! It's a 50 per cent tax credit, meaning, the public pays for half of these really expensive projects while having nothing to gain and everything to lose.
