lenathaw,

+1 for UGREEN. My workplace uses them for everything, I’ve used many of their products over the years and they work great.

lenathaw,

Anker is a great brand for anything power related (chargers, cables, batteries, etc). Everything else, not so much

lenathaw,

There are plenty of alternatives to the NUC. MinisForum, StarLabs and System76 out of the top of my head

lenathaw,

I have two MinisForum miniPCs and I absolutely love them, I’ve had them on for months at the time without any issues. Before I got them I was looking into the Intel NUCs and they were way too expensive for the specs. Sure, their top of the line NUCs are absolute beasts in a tiny form factor, but their basic entry level stuff is for burning money

lenathaw,

Mine truncated the first 8 characters, when I discovered that I sent them a request to their cyber security department and they told me.of was by design.

I closed my account over that bs

lenathaw,

that’s exactly how I figured it out. then asked for some friends and family with account in the same bank to validate

lenathaw,

I recently used IRC to download some obscure early 2000s anime from a major fansub group from back in the day. Turns out they are still hosting an IRC server with a not serving their entire fansun archive.

Writing XDCC commands brought back some memories

lenathaw,

I agree with both of you. I do not like ebikes and I don’t are myself riding one maybe until I’m older, but I do prefer a douche on an ebike than a douche on an SUV

lenathaw,

Not sure how to feel about this, on one hand there are ton of people without a job and customers who lost their bikes during repair.

On the other hand, VanMoof was like the BMW of the bicycle world, offer risen by inconsiderate arseholes.

lenathaw,

The original Moto G did this as well, then I replaced it with the latest G5 which did not and learn that the hard way

Confession. I wrote a lot of fake stories on Reddit.

I think it's time for me to come clean about this. I kinda became addicted to Reddit, but most importantly, reddit stories. It became part of my routine to listen to podcasts that read reddit stories. NGL it's really enjoyable, but there is always some people that debates if the stories are true....

lenathaw,

That's why I blocked those subs, they're all fake or just people looking for validation

lenathaw,

IHateMoney.org is a nice self hosted FOSS option, joining groups and organising users is dead easy, but the iOS app sucks.

I personally prefer SettleUp despite it being closed source, I find its functionality a lot better than Splitwise

lenathaw,

Some are legit, some are scams.

As a rule of thumb, of it is featured in isthereanydeal.com , then they’re safe

lenathaw,

Amazing writeup, thanks for the nostalgia trip. Albeit I’m a Linux user since 2008, I did grew up with the internet since the mid90s. Things come and go, but perseverance must stay forever.

lenathaw,

I use Codium on both PopOS and MacOSi, it’s a bit slow to start, but performance is good, but I don’t know how it compares to stock VSCode since I never tested it. But overall I’m very happy with it.

lenathaw,

The phrases will appear by the filter, including warnings about harming children, damaging organs and causing impotence and leukaemia.

Right there in the article. Putting a piece or printed paper in your mouth does not damage your organs, cause impotence nor leukemia.

lenathaw,

You don’t smoke the filter bit

lenathaw,

almost everyone I know that uses reddit just switched to the official app if they weren’t using it already. Whether we want it or not a lot of normies started using reddit in the past few years and they just don’t care.
