conformism of right wing politics signify both the class war populism and ease with which one can rise the ranks without changing much anything about already established elites.

My freedom limits your freedom, if i am an arbitrary obstacle to you. But if that were the case, our freedom could not extend beyond our immediate physical capabilities. One can move around the globe in a boat, how? Because other people helps him. If you are a master, it's because they are forced to do so (by wage). If you are free, it is because they are freely extending your freedom, so you do the same for them. Cooperation is libertarian.

Bakunin's critique of "freedom must be limited" should be reproduced ad infinitum. But hey, why read an 'anti-semite'? Just hold onto the liberal notion of freedom instead. Worked against Corbyn, works against anarchism.

There is no decent argument against anarchism. Against anarchists? Everything, they suck as much as any other group, since they too are the products of our times. Bury the anarchists, bury the anarchy. Eyes transfixed to the spectacle of argument. Infinite discourse to keep the belly of academics full in their holy duty of writing an answer. As Debord said, publishing a book and conducting an assasination, these are the same.

This (Agamben, not the article, which is ok) is the most pseudo-anarchist thing i have yet read.

Not to bring up medieval philosophical discussions again, but it seems we have fallen so back that it is pertinent: categories do not exist. There is no anarchism against categories because there is no state of categories. Ideology of state is not what state is, state is not, as Agamber and Negri suppose, a constitution. State is informal violence and a structure of hierarchy, and it has constitions and religion as its drapes. State is not built by constituent power. It is wholly artificial. Liberals are right in that, every right and every freedom, every literal road built under the sovereignty of state, is wholly limited by every other facet of the same system. There is no such thing as freedom or autonomous labour within capitalism/under state.

@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

Only freedom is the freedom to choose how exactly relate to unfreedom. Which is almost nothing, which is also everything. If you aim for freedom as if it was a real possibility, you are free, you freely make freedom possible. Only freedom is the silence following the guillotines.

Agamben's rightwards turn is not particularly surprising if one consider he follows Heidegger and Derrida in building up epic battles against windmills. While actual Anarchism, (he doesn't mention but this includes Walter Benjamin's Spartacism) gets sidelined as within the logic of sovereighty; because you need the concept of space to think of a space where state is overthrown or cleansed from state. You do need that. But Anarchism has nothing to do what your imagination allows you to coneptualise or not, because it is not your revolution. For all their bravado, all the anti-statism of this politics, strenching from Nietzsche to Vanegheim, boil down to failure of imagining a genuine collectivity free from state. Homo Sacer is its perfect example, neatly trapped withi Roman State's legal imagination. Postanarchism is pseudoanarchism not because they oppose mass organisation, because they fail to imagine what actual anarchists fight for.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

Tbf, Graber and co. can overcorrect and make imagining anarchist collectivity too easy and too anthropoligical. But Nietzschean individualists who don't like father figures do not count as anarchists, if their conception of freedom is not strong enough to exist in an hypothetical completely without any kind of hierarchy. Like Cartesian thinking substance is sovereign over matter, freedom can exist independently from and over the grave of or before the state. Political immanentism is both Nietzschean and Marxist, and is illogical. Failure to imagine future is not an argument against imagining futures.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

Tldr; Nietzschean left is in dire staits. Agamben should go on Joe Rogan to bitch about vaccines.

there is a black hole inside decisionism. There are contexts in which there is structurally nothing to do. This is not a uniform "nothing". You can die of dehydration or you can drink seawater. You will die either way. So, in a particular context, you are a criminal no matter what you do. Or a "loser". Weirdo. Animalistic. But the point isn't that what you do doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is this decision of exactly how to die, how to be a criminal, even if the death sentence and the graveyard is already decided for you.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

You can die trying to live. You can die in resignation. There is nothing else to do. But this is also everything that can be done.

WTF

In the Turkish version, Scylla (cadı Sila, was voiced by Eylem Şenkal[158]) kidnapped Hugo's family to fulfill her desire to gain eternal beauty by drinking their sweat obtained from being worked to death,[159][160][161][162] a motif not mentioned in the other versions

Hugo became Turkey's highest ranking children's show and achieved a 12% share of the total market at the time when the country was new to private TV channels.[77][155] The program was enormously popular, especially at the beginning in 1993 when it was being watched by millions of children, thousands of whom would compete to play as callers. The show was primarily hosted by Tolga Abi (Tolga Gariboğlu) for over a decade.[156][157]

How is it that we completely ceded ground to the extent that a bunch of dried up white racists from the early 00s are somehow the authority on atheism?? There is a robust political and philosophical tradition that extends far beyond fucking Richard Dawkins and I wish people would acknowledge that.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

@vex @Parasite Still, this is a subjectivist description of how power works. Power as identity is not political power.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

@vex @Parasite A structure that procures competition between power accumulators will only allow people that will do everything in the name of it to hold onto it.

livinghell,
@livinghell@kolektiva.social avatar

@vex @Parasite yo. our disagreement is philosophical, not political And it largely stems from a conflation of intellectual smugness of aughties atheists with fascism. Some of them did turn to fascism, but i would blame class and ethnic alignments before them participating in internet discussion blood sports. While certainly deserving of criticism, framing the latter as a precursor to fascism in any meaningful way has become a canard that insinuates a worldview which conflates meanness with political alignment.
