I know why companies are moving to the "no passwords, just 2FA codes via email or SMS" thing.
But I fucking hate it. Give me Passkeys, give me passwords + local 2FA, something I control. Every time I have to wait for your code to show up, I consider not doing what I came to do.

Replaced the remaining older ionization smoke alarms after last night's fun 3am "let's set off the smoke alarms for no reason" incident.

Here's a thing to remember if you have Kidde smoke alarms: when they're networked and all alerting, the station that initiated the alarm will have a flashing status LED (the pattern indicates smoke vs. CO, if you don't have speaking alarms). Stations that are just relaying the remote alarm do not flash.

This fact is hidden in the literal middle of the manual.
