My wallet breathes a sigh of relief

Yesterday's Apple event launching new iPads and accessories came and went and I still haven't reached for my credit card. As expected, there was no reference to iPad OS - that will come next month, at WWDC. Instead, the focus was on hardware and there was nothing that made me lean towards and screen and go "Ooooh". The new iPads look and sound nice, but I can't be the only person who glazes over when they go into such technical…

Where’s my iPad excitement?

Later today (or first thing in the morning if you're on the west coast of the US!) Apple is going to unveil some new products. All signs point to new iPads and I'm feeling decidedly meh about the whole thing. I'm not an iPad hater. Far from it. I was one of the people who shelled out silly money for the first ever model and loved it, despite all its flaws and limitations.

@andycarolan And iPads aren't upgraded by users nearly as frequently as iPhones. So I think I'll have my iPad Pro for a few years yet.

A Viennese whirl

I'm just back from a delightful weekend in Vienna and it's fair to say I've fallen in love with the place. Excluding an incredibly rushed, stressful and ultimately pointless 12-hour business trip there years ago, this was my first visit. I got to see so much in just a couple of days - mostly due to the excellent weather, combined with my preference for walking everywhere.

Finally home from my overnight to Chichester to speak at a conference.

The presentation went really well, almost making up for last night’s food poisoning and projectile vomiting at 2am. 😥

Haven’t slept since and, at this point, I think I can see sounds and taste colour.
