@brandonwrites First Kobo for me, and I’m liking it so far. I needed an e-reader where I could mostly load my ebooks, and not necessarily use their shop all that much. It does that brilliantly, and the added Pocket integration is nice to have too.
@maique Getting out of Amazon's ecosystem was what prompted me about five years ago to switch to Kobo. I was amazed at how well it works with Calibre and I love being able to just add my books and forget it.
@maique This looks so cool. Trying to resist the temptation to run out and buy one. (Can I even get one in the states?) And I just got a Kindle Scribe less than a year ago. (Buyer’s remorse?!)
@mihobu Color is nice, but it’s a very particular kind of color. Rather limited. If you’re dealing mainly with text, it might be unnecessary. On the other hand, price difference between color/b&w is also quite small.
But the screen size is much smaller than on the Scribe, isn’t it?
@maique 12 hours sounds a bit rushed with the review 😆 but I take that with as your initial thoughts and would love to read your in-depth thoughts after you have spent some time on it. Especially the colour aspects of the Kobo.
