PostNord charging a declaration fee greater than the import VAT should be illegal.

Just paid 100kr (including 20kr VAT on the service fee itself) for a 6kr import tax.

(Translation for US: $10 fee to pay a 60 cent tax.)

I don’t even know what the package is.

@stroughtonsmith Apple never had any intent do further business with Epic and they had the legal basis to do so (at least according to US law).

Epic created a new developer account through a subsidiary, without talking to Apple.
Apple did not “approve” it as in leadership approving Epic coming back: it merely went through the semi-automated system.

It’s another stupid PR stunt by Epic and you are all falling for it.

People do not realize, Facebook is not just down. It's actively spitting 401 so it expires your session. No automatic recovery from that. The impact on the business will be insane. I don't even know my Facebook password.

You might not like it, but -only iOS is the only thing keeping Google from having complete control over the Web.

It’s counterintuitive and wrong in principle, but advocating for multiple engines on iOS is going to result in less choice and a serious blow to the “Open Web”.

You can’t fight corporate control with more corporate control.

@dimillian It's the lesser evil in its category. I'd take it over the alternatives any day. Plus, they finally fixed gesture navigation in the Mac app (weirdly enough not in the Mac App Store build yet), after 6+ months I reported the issue, so I can stop hating it again!

Now, I hope they improve the huddles' reliability. Roughly a third the huddles I do have some sort of issue. Feel like it's improved lately, but still don't trust it 100%.

Table view cell swipe actions is the worst UI pattern on iOS apps. Not sure who came up with the idea first (maybe Clear?), but it’s really sad Apple embraced it.

It’s particularly bad when developers implement left-to-right swipe actions, since it risks interfering with the “swipe back from the edge” gesture.

I also wish that Apple embraced a “swipe-anywhere-to-go-back” pattern instead 😔

Does anyone know if there’s a way to get the corner radius of a screen in or ? 🤔 I think some native apps are able to adjust their UI to the display of the host and that’d be great for as well.

@amxmln I think you might be able to get the radius by computing the difference between the viewport width and 2 * the safe-area-inset-left, for example (haven’t tried it).

Something like this in CSS:

calc(100vw - (2 * env(safe-area-inset-left, 100vw))

I'm looking at Marzocco and Sage, but another better Delonghi could be fine, too.

My single biggest wish for @ivory is to add an option to disable all the cell swipe actions and add a “swipe anywhere to go back” feature. (Similarly to Twitter, the Mastodon official client, Woolly, Mammoth, and many other apps).

It would greatly improve single-handed use (with a right hand, that is).

Alternatively, a swipe on Tab Bar to go back a la @apolloapp would be an improvement.
