In times of trouble I fall to my knees

I just had my last encounter with your presumptive bullshit

R, Python, meshes, GDAL, coordinate systems

why are there two versions of MASS on src/contrib of CRAN?

mdsumner,

@brodriguesco latest and previous release, dev is looking for the latest, previous and still suppoted needs the earlier one

Seems to be a flaky aspect of CRAN Recommended packages, mostly affects Matrix because it actually gets used

what do we use for Python package boilerplate? I want the .gitignore and workflows for building and setting up on github

is there a devtools/usethis framework like in R?

does anyone have straightforward examples of building up a xml document with xml2? doc seems geared to existing documents ... has anyone written much with this? 😅

    Introducing {sqlitemeta} - a wrapper for sqlite-createtable-parser.

This pkg will parse a CREATE TABLE statement for sqlite and return a list of meta-information about the table.

It is also posslble to extract the CREATE TABLE statement from an existing sqlite db and do the same - a handy tool for understanding the structure of an existing db.

This is a bit niche, and will probable get rolled in to another sqlite project eventually(!)

kind of sad that a former force majeure in R has pretty much fully acquiesced to the python ecosystem as "the future”. I dgaf what you think, but Python is a sad language (any language requiring “spacing" as syntax is sad). I get it, tho. Profits over correctness.

@hrbrmstr it's a long game, we just need to fix packaging and then it can be a powerful part of R's future 😃
