I do sometimes bemoan that processing speeds haven't improved as quickly as in the past, but at the same time I imagine it would have sucked to have to upgrade your computer after a couple of years since it became too slow to run anything new.

Same goes for smartphones now vs. early 2010s

like using a Pentium ii in 2008 would have severely limited what you could run in terms of anything released within the last few years while now a Haswell i5 can still run most modern everyday apps reasonably well.

Ok, so akko.wtf's IP does point to Hetzner, but the actual server is hosted at home. Hetzner is currently only used to host the reverse proxy for akko.wtf and frieren.quest, mostly so I don't have to deal with potential dynamic IP shenanigans and provide a bit of privacy.

Well I'll take some time to consider options here.

honestly dunno who even is even a "safe" option when it comes to that sort of stuff

you either have other big providers who might pull the same stuff or the shady smaller ones who don't seem all that trustworthy for other reasons

bruh, people with shittier connections tend to also have shitter devices. I know qualcomm sucks, but like don't blame people for buying phones with their chips in them, especially since they're pretty dominant in the android world.
