Kicking myself for having cropped her helmet in the second shot, but I was shooting freehand from afar.

Jordyn smiles as she high-fives the girl, holding her skateboard at her side. The girl jumped to high-five her, and got caught mid-air during the photo, so her feet are off the ground and she appears to be floating.

I went out on my bike, just riding around hoping to find something interesting to photograph.

In the span of 3 miles I saw a large group of rollerskaters doing stunts, bats emerging en masse from their colony forming murmurations, and a drag show. And it's not even 10pm.

Houston lacks in quality of life and infrastructure, but excels in people and popular culture.

There's a guy in Atlanta who calls himself AtlantaMagnetMan on Instagram and seems to spend his free time cleaning the streets of dangerous debris as a self-directed one-man volunteering project.

He uses magnets attached to a bike trailer to pick up nails and the like, hence the name.

And it's nice to see that no, "the market" will not adress every problem, but motivated volunteers will.

Hydrogen has no role in the global energy system, and that won't change.

The only value of "green hydrogen" is as a raw material.

So, why do the governments of the world insist on pushing this non-starter of a technology?

Because politicians are clueless and easy to manipulate, and they've surrounded themselves with grifters.

I walked by some homeless man walking around with his tiny dog. "Howdy", he said.

A bit later, I bumped into him again. The streets being desolate as they are, it was not hard to recognize eachother.

"Nice to meet you, I guess" he said.

"Hey" I said.

"You're not gonna hurt us, are you?" seeming actually worried.

"WHAT?! No, man..." then he kept walking.

The violence in this country stems from fear.

I'm walking down the street, minding my own business, and as I do I make eye contact with some guy standing on some fast food joint, who stares me down, postures and says "The fucks wrong with YOU?" - I smile, scoff, and say "Nothing", as I walk along.

It's crazy how easy to intimidate y'all are.

The noise of this city is driving me insane.

Endless motor and rolling noise, on top of several idiots without mufflers per hour.

Constant honking. And trains which, despite the "No train horn" signs, seem to insist on loudly honking through these communities.

And some leafblowers and mowers just to boot.

I'm leaving Houston next week, and it can't come soon enough.

I'm ready to put this place behind me.
