What game is improved the most by mods?

I know most of the Bethesda RPGs have massive mod support, and there's games like Minecraft that have more mods than anyone can imagine. I would consider those games pretty playable in their vanilla states. Would you say there are any games that were "saved" by modding? Or that are still kept alive by thriving modding...

noodlejetski,

we've played through about 80% of the game (the first 4 bosses, I think?) on vanilla before adding ValheimPlus. WE HAVEN'T FINISHED IT YET SO NO SPOILERONIS PLS but damn, it was worth it just for being able to pull materials from chests when crafting.

noodlejetski,

is there a source for NY Times ones? I'm currently using https://downforacross.com/ which is pretty good on both mobile and desktop, but I'd like something that doesn't require constant internet connection, and this one freaks out when you're in spotty area and disconnect for a second.

noodlejetski,

Neverwinter Nights and Shadowrun series. both are isometric RPGs, with the latter using turn-based combat.

noodlejetski,

Buster is a twisted work of a twisted genius. it uses accessibility version of captcha, which is based on recorded speech that you're supposed to listen to and transcribe. it "plays" the audio silently, and uses speech recognition software to solve it.

for extra twistiness, you can actually set it up to use Google's own speech recognition API.

noodlejetski,

uBO, of course. note: you guys don't need ClearURLs with this list added.

help me choose my next distro

I'm resetting windows 10 on my Thinkpad T580 for work but would like to create a partition for linux. It's an older laptop and really chugs through games like Minecraft or RuneScape but I enjoy playing relaxing games while I listen to audiobooks at night. I grew up using windows which is why I've mostly used Ubuntu and ZorinOS...

noodlejetski,

do you follow/subscribe to communities through your Mastodon account? I've tried doing that a few days ago, but it meant every single comment made in the community being boosted to my main feed.

noodlejetski,

uBO, of course.

noodlejetski,

Unnecessary, as uBO has removeparam

and there's a neat list that uses it for stripping a shitload of tracking parameters at https://github.com/DandelionSprout/adfilt/blob/master/LegitimateURLShortener.txt

noodlejetski,

popcorn tastes good.

noodlejetski,

Reddit knows something we don’t

they know that they can circumvent moderators' lockdown and make subreddits public at will and sack the mods who don't agree with the change, and they'll still have tons of people willing become a moderator for the sense of pride and accomplishment that you get from ruling your tiny little castle.

noodlejetski,

only if you were doing the running man

noodlejetski,

same but my music playlists

noodlejetski,

made 35k steps yesterday, which equals checks calculator a lot.

noodlejetski,

find Mac gaming to be funny

how so? the M1 chip and higher are ridiculously powerful.

I grumbled a bit but upgraded to the 3€ one in the end. I can afford spending a little bit extra, and they definitely deserve it.
