I know most of the Bethesda RPGs have massive mod support, and there's games like Minecraft that have more mods than anyone can imagine. I would consider those games pretty playable in their vanilla states. Would you say there are any games that were "saved" by modding? Or that are still kept alive by thriving modding...
we've played through about 80% of the game (the first 4 bosses, I think?) on vanilla before adding ValheimPlus. WE HAVEN'T FINISHED IT YET SO NO SPOILERONIS PLS but damn, it was worth it just for being able to pull materials from chests when crafting.
I just saw this post over on r/modcoord which is basically a massive list of subreddits participating in the blackout protest. If I'm being honest I haven't seen this much anger and coordinated frustration since the era right before the digg exodus....
they know that they can circumvent moderators' lockdown and make subreddits public at will and sack the mods who don't agree with the change, and they'll still have tons of people willing become a moderator for the sense of pride and accomplishment that you get from ruling your tiny little castle.
uBO, of course. note: you guys don't need ClearURLs with this list added. LibRedirect for automatically opening Youtube, Twitter, TikTok etc. links in their privacy-focused front-ends. I just make sure to disable all the instances by esmailelbob since he's a little homophobic shithead Buster for automatic captcha solving Consent-O-Matic automatically clicks through cookies banner to deny all the cookies that aren't necessary, which I like better than just hiding the cookie banner Redirect AMP to HTML because fuck AMP and fuck Google
Buster is a twisted work of a twisted genius. it uses accessibility version of captcha, which is based on recorded speech that you're supposed to listen to and transcribe. it "plays" the audio silently, and uses speech recognition software to solve it.
for extra twistiness, you can actually set it up to use Google's own speech recognition API.
Just got back from my local 7/11 to get some soda, and it was a mile (technically 0.8 but shut), was thinking it was absolutely hellish to walk up there due to naturally having weak muscles n shit like that....
What games would you guys recommend for a guy near 50, who doesn't have a gaming pc (my laptop is an i7, 16gb RAM and using onboard graphics) which tend to have an older community? I used to play RPG's and my least favorite games are those first person war games....
I'm resetting windows 10 on my Thinkpad T580 for work but would like to create a partition for linux. It's an older laptop and really chugs through games like Minecraft or RuneScape but I enjoy playing relaxing games while I listen to audiobooks at night. I grew up using windows which is why I've mostly used Ubuntu and ZorinOS...
For a while now I've been quite happy running LibreWolf, with Bitwarden and some other privacy extensions. I've also switched over from Google to Kagi as a search engine; doesn't keep me anonymous, but I do love not being the product for once.

do you follow/subscribe to communities through your Mastodon account? I've tried doing that a few days ago, but it meant every single comment made in the community being boosted to my main feed.
What game is improved the most by mods?
