Just found out Dell has a new 40" 5k monitor with some pretty impressive specs. Looks like a good upgrade for anyone rocking a 38" UW (which I am), well if you have the $$$ for it (which I don’t).

Minisforum has a Windows tablet with some nice specs. Lots of goodies, M2 (non pro) CPU like performance, blah blah blah.

What's really interesting is a feature Apple will never add to their tablets (or bring back to iMacs). DP port in. From what I've seen its kind of a hacky implementation, but still progress!

I don't get this at all. One hack is unacceptable, but another uglier hack is OK? Apple disallows always running background applications for battery life reason, but it's OK to use location services and a map even though that's almost certainly going to waste a lot more battery?

For the record, I think Apple should allow always running apps on iOS (with scare alert to enable) and I think outside the App Store notarization should concern itself with security issues only.

Today’s adventures in IoT: the Meross bridge has an “adapter” for a LiftMaster garage door opener which is a battery driven wireless remote. For “security”LiftMaster implemented a proprietary protocol between a garage door opener button and the opener to keep users safe. Thanks LiftMaster!

Too bad the Meross wireless adapter only works about half the time (just like the other PoS remotes for this door).

I picked up the much maligned ROG Ally Z1 (Extremeless) when it went on a super brief $300 sale. You know what, it’s not bad. Noticeably lighter than the OLED Steam Deck, much better speakers and the screen feels sharper sometimes. Performance is sometimes better than the Steam Deck, but often not. Running Windows for gaming isn't (IMO) as bad as people say.

That being said, battery life is atrociously terrible, Turbo mode can get very hot and sleep is hit and miss.

Keychron has a new Lemokey P1 keyboard which seems pretty identical to the Q1, it seems to be missing the OS swap switch but looks like it has just about everything, at close to 50% the price… Weird.
