New headset arrived (via Amazon Prime, that was what? a 7 hour delivery time) and I gasp recorded a video with my "made for text" voice on it.

Haven't set up OBS yet so still using Xbox Game Bar to record.

New barebones PC arrived. Heatsink and fan had come loose in transit. Fixed this and then spent 3 hours transferring over SSDs, RAM and GPU. I'm done with this DIY approach to PCs. I'm too old, I can't see what I'm doing half the time and I've become fumble fingered. Next time I'm paying for everything to be done for me.

I didn't even get a new video card for it. This time I'm going all out. You'll have to let me know what you wind up going with.

Substance Painter on Steam got a stealth "update" to 2024 edition, but WOTS says there's really nothing new. Plus the "intro" price is the price that the 2023 version left with. Supposedly the price will increase by $25 in 2024 : /

I have used SP with great success in the past and I find it easier to work with (for some reason) than Mixer, but Mixer is free so I have a decision to make: Get SP 2024 (spsdly with free updates during 2024) at the discount price, or stick with Mixer.

I picked up the Pixel 2 watch a few weeks ago and one of the things it does is track body responses to help log moods. It's been really helpful and actually kind of hilarious. Just now I got an email from a co-worker who annoys the shit out of me and immediately my watch sent a notification lol. Now the next step is to work on stress relief based on these responses.

Woot! Cities Skylines 2 release day. I totally should have taken today off. Oh wells.

There has been a lot of discussion around the performance of the game and the devs have even admitted to not reaching the benchmarks they expected. If this was from a new company taking over the franchise I'd be concerned. For me, given the developers track record of providing updates I think it's going to be okay. I also don't feel bad pre-ordering knowing this. It's not like they are some huge game studio.

@pixelone Ive always equated buying a game with going to the movies. Which given the cost of a movie these days it's even more true. Depending on the game I'm going to get updates and hours of enjoyment. With a movie I sometimes roll the dice based on trailers and sit in the dark for 3 hours wishing I could get the time back. (Me this weekend I hated the new Scorsese movie and I will never get those 3 and a half hours back and that pisses me off. Never let your film major kid pick a movie.)
