SwiftUI question: I have a fairly simple screen. I have a Text view that I want to always be vertically centered on the screen.

I then want to have other Views above and below that Text view.

Is there an easy way to do that? I don't want to vertically center the entire VStack, just the middle Text view. Or do I need to do some funky stuff with ZStack?

This is probably the tidiest my desk will ever be, so here’s my setup in my brand new office!

Swapped the desk top from MDF to solid live edge dark walnut. Thankfully the standing desk can still handle the extra weight!

Now I need to decorate the rest of the room

I first came up with the idea for Söka a few months back while planning a trip to South East Asia later this year. I started building the app in mid-March, initially just to see whether I could make my ideas a reality.

2 and a half months later, I've shipped an app that I am so immensely proud of.

I get the excitement for “xrOS” and a potential headset, but I hope that's not what dominates the keynote. I hope that there's plenty of fun new features and APIs for iOS, watchOS, and macOS (AKA the stuff I already use).

I've never been convinced by VR, not least because I get intense motion sickness whenever I put a VR headset on.

Tonight was a big night for me personally. I gave my first public talk, in a country I’ve been in for barely 36 hours, on the other side of the planet while extremely sleep deprived. 🥹

Thank you to the organisers of Cocoaheads Auckland for giving me this opportunity to speak. I’m thrilled to hear that a lot of people took something away from my talk about taking your indie app from idea to the App Store.

Now it’s time to sleep and prepare for the next leg of our trip!
