Ersilia Fossati (1921-1999) #Swiss politician from canton of Ticino, campaigner for women's suffrage. Spent #WWII in Swiss Women's Army Auxiliary Service. When Switzerland eventually granted women the federal vote on 7 February 1971, Fossati was one of the first eleven women elected to the Grand Council of Ticino. Dolors Martí Domènech 1901–70 only woman to hold position of political responsibility in Catalan Republican government in Tarragona, Spain in 1930s. Socialist politician, worked to develop women's rights, a skilled public speaker. During Spanish Civil War was responsible for keeping supply chains running during bombings. She later trained at the Académie Julian art school in Paris with Jules Lefebvre & in Jean-Jacques Henner's studio.
