Ersilia Fossati (1921-1999) politician from canton of Ticino, campaigner for women's suffrage. Spent in Swiss Women's Army Auxiliary Service. When Switzerland eventually granted women the federal vote on 7 February 1971, Fossati was one of the first eleven women elected to the Grand Council of Ticino. Madame Vaudé-Green (née Marie Melina Grin) (1822-1902), who worked in in 1850s-60s, specialising in photographs of religious art. Chose "the finest gems in this magnificent jewel box of masterpieces" to reproduce - 200 images available via stationers & print shops. Her photography studio was called Photographie catholique. Dolors Martí Domènech 1901–70 only woman to hold position of political responsibility in Catalan Republican government in Tarragona, Spain in 1930s. Socialist politician, worked to develop women's rights, a skilled public speaker. During Spanish Civil War was responsible for keeping supply chains running during bombings. Laura Leroux-Revault (1872-1936) French artist & painter. Her first teacher was her father the painter Louis Hector Leroux. She later trained at the Académie Julian art school in Paris with Jules Lefebvre & in Jean-Jacques Henner's studio. She exhibited with the Société des Artistes Français & her work is held in public & private collections.

Marie Laeng-Stucki (1905–74) 1 of most powerful female entrepreneurs. With husband Fritz, "Mama Laeng" founded Lenco vinyl turntables in 1946. 1,300 staff had a pension scheme, sports teams, a library, cashless salary payments, flexible work hours & accident prevention - all before Swiss women got vote in 1971

Ángela Alessio Robles Mexican civil engineer town planner. Evelyna Bloem Souto (1926-2017), In 1957 she was the only woman in 1st class of civil engineering course at University of São Paulo . As a student, she had to draw a moustache and beard on her face to be allowed on a French work site to inspect tunnel building. Pepita Inglés (1910 - 18 April 1937) anarcho-syndicalist fighter & member of Durruti Column during . July 1936 left children safe with family to go fight in republican militia with husband who was killed soon after. Braulia Cánovas Mulero (1920–1993) Republican who fought against the Nazis in the French Resistance, in under the codename "Monique". She survived Nazi concentration camps, was liberated from Bergen-Belsen on 15 April 1945. In 1924, Lois Suckling became 1st woman in registered as optometrist, trained by husband as no courses in country at time. Had 5 kids, husband ill with degenerative disease so ran their opticians practice by herself in 1930s. 1936 set up 1st NZ family planning organisation to "mitigate the evils of ill-health & poverty". Personally directed movement of vessels. 1913 @ desk for 3 days straight until all ships accounted 4 in storm which sank 14 vessels.
