purrtastic,

Won’t China just make their own milk proteins, thereby decimating our dairy industry?

This tech will happen. Hopefully we can put our lands to better use.

purrtastic,

Nowhere is NZ is warm enough for commercial sugarcane production, unfortunately.

purrtastic,

I talked to a farmer on hill land about this, and he said they have to buy cows that have grown up on hill land otherwise they can’t handle it and invariably end up a bloated carcass in the local stream. That still does happen sometimes, in which case they just leave it there to decompose and pollute the stream because it’s too much work to remove it. Farmers, eh?

purrtastic,

Milk is an end product. Precise fermentation is a better technology to produce it than cows.

purrtastic,

It couldn’t happen to a cuntier company.

purrtastic,

I used to DJ house and techno in the 90s… what? Was someone speaking? It’s bad 😣.

purrtastic,

I’ve been reading up on the H5N1 bird flu situation in the USA. I doubt our health system would cope if it starts spreading human to human… particularly as it’s being gutted by Luxon.

purrtastic,

I hadn’t thought about that, having always had comprehensive cover, but it’s worth investigating, thanks.

purrtastic,

Ah, the Motion Picture Ass. of America at it again

purrtastic,

I finally watched Dune 2 and it was better than expected. I found the first one forgettable for some reason but I’ll have to watch it again now.

Also watched a few episodes of the 3 Body Problem. I read the books and this series does them justice.

purrtastic,

It’s excellent. I’ve spotted 3 Games of Thrones actors so far too. It’s made by the same showrunners.

purrtastic,

I recently rewatched GoT for the first time. It’s taken me this long to make peace with the final few seasons. I enjoyed it more than I expected though. And don’t let it put you off the 3 Body Problem.

'As useful as tits on a bull': Principal slams Govt's truancy plan, calls for cross-party action (www.newshub.co.nz)

"He’s blaming the boards and principals and schools for the problem we have, yet he’s the one that says, ‘Listen we are going to cut lunches’. How the hell is that going to get people into school? He says, ‘We are going to cut back the public transport subsidies’. How the hell is that going to get people into...

purrtastic,

I never thought I’d find a connection between food forests and Super Hans, but here we are. Just one question: what was the bad thing?

purrtastic,

Well, that’s pretty scathing, and justified too.

'Don't keep people home': Govt to give public health advice around sending sick children to school - Seymour (www.newshub.co.nz)

Why would you want sickness to spread at schools? This will get kids sick, it will get their teachers sick, kids will take it home to parents and get them sick. What’s the impact to education but also to the wider workforce and productivity?

purrtastic,

The wasps, aargh the wasps. That’s how I know it’s autumn. The fuckers are everywhere.
