railsdev,

These puzzles give me the real creeps—I can’t quite put my finger on it—something about the imagery makes it look like it was pulled from CSAM or something.

railsdev,

Yeah, no. If you look through my comment history there’s zero indication I constantly think about kiddie porn.

I’d tell you simply and honestly that I rarely ever think of it, but of course that’s asking you to trust me and something tells me you’re just an asshole anyway so earning that trust isn’t really worth my time.

Bye 👋

railsdev,

Notice I said “or something?” The point was that the puzzles creep me the fuck out. They always show little kids’ shit in the puzzles too which is why I went with CSAM in my casually written, hasty comment.

Fucking Lemmy. Y’all take shit so fucking seriously. God forbid someone exaggerate on the Internet.

Never in my life have I been accused of being a fucking pedophile over such a stupid fucking comment.

This place is filled with crybabies; get a fucking life.

railsdev,

So what do you want them to do? Not say anything that might mean maybe we should clean up our behavior?

Do you also ignore your doctor and mechanic (let me guess, you don’t have either because you’re smarter than them right)? After all, they’re just saying anything to not lose their funding right? 🙄

railsdev,

Honestly I didn’t know if this was AI at first because this was a theme before AI came into the spotlight. I always wonder why this is a thing.

railsdev,

I don’t understand why the macOS way is “bad.” You choose whether to send it to the developer after reviewing the information. When I review the information, I rarely see any personally identifiable information.

railsdev,

I know that at least App Store apps are signed by the developer so I always assumed it would go to them.

That’s super weird if Apple is collecting this but not passing it on — it would be in their interest for the developer to be able to fix their app.

railsdev, (edited )

I’ve actually blocked any incoming email without a valid email address (belonging to my domain) in the To: or CC: headers; it’s helped me cut spam significantly.

Using a specific prefix I can generate a new email address for each website I visit. So when someone emails me, they’re forced to tell on themselves and/or the website they stole/bought my email address from.

All this makes it easy to see who lied and sold my shit (data) after I explicitly said not to. And I figure if I really needed to be BCC’d on something, the sender can simply forward the email to me after they receive the rejection message.

railsdev,

I’ve tried them but they never really clicked for me. In case I need to block one I add it to a server-side Sieve filter.

railsdev,

I really just can’t stand talking about other people, places or events when that’s all someone talks about.

I’ve met and spent days with countless people like that here in Southern California; any original thought is off the table and I always think “well eventually they might open up or something” but no, it just doesn’t happen.

railsdev,

After Invasion season one I vowed never to come back to the show.

But I’ve got to say, season two goes pretty hard despite some really cringy moments here and there.

railsdev,

New season just dropped.

railsdev,

Invasion season one was terrible honestly. I just couldn’t understand why I even bothered to continue watching.

When season two came out I gave it another chance and was blown away.

railsdev,

You code them by hand in the terminal before installing the DE right?

Amelia, to unixporn

[I3] I just switched to FreeBSD

railsdev,

This comment made me laugh. One thing I prefer about FreeBSD is not only have updated packages but being able to custom compile them.

Any time I have to use Ubuntu in Docker containers at work I’m ready to kill myself; though Alpine Linux is incredible (can’t speak to Arch).

OK Microsoft... trying to log into Teams while work lapop updates to Windows 11. No longer works in any iPhone browser, including Edge. The app will not authenticate my work login. (lemmy.world)

Update…Per Microsoft’s instructions, disabled all tracking protections in Safari and requested desktop mode and it works. Their instructions say turn protections back on after using teams… 😐...

railsdev,

But this is changing and won’t always be true.

The Lost Powers of Childhood: "James, don't trust the adults, look at what they've been hiding from us!" (aussie.zone)

The real reason we warn kids to stay away from the tracks. It turns out that confectionery is cheaper than gravel in some parts of the world (and resists water erosion better because of the wrappers). Sadly they didn’t anticipate anthropomorphic erosion events such as this leading to extended rail line outages....

railsdev,

I get this an AI image but the story is fake, right?

…right?

railsdev,

That sounds super interesting

railsdev,

I just don’t understand why anyone uses WhatsApp. Setting the obvious problem with its owner aside, the UI is abhorrent. Signal might not be 100% native but on iOS it almost feels smoother than Apple-made apps.

railsdev,

Touché. I may have deleted my Facebook account long ago but I admit I still have Messenger just for one group chat.

If any old friends try to hit me up though, I basically just tell them to message me on Signal.

railsdev,

I guess as an American I just never “got” why it’s used in so much of the world. I did use it for work for awhile (on desktop mainly) and it was “meh.”

railsdev,

I’ve seen them out in the wild; sure sometimes they’re cool for 20 seconds but it’s sooooo gimmicky. In fact I’d wager VR becomes mainstream before foldable phones. 🤣

railsdev,

I don’t know what this has to do with folding phones

railsdev,

Did you read the comment? It’s not a lie, Apple hasn’t charged for OS upgrades in a long time.

railsdev,

Yeah, nobody said that.
